I read reviews that castigated some shipments for a noisy turning wheel - but this unit had no issues. My crystal is a Moon Jellyfish with a blackened back so it does not make sense to rotate. However, with a 1 pound load the system was completely silent and the planetary gear for the rotational base was well greased. I guess it could handle a 2-3 lb load with no signs of strain. It took me less than 3 minutes to remove the base screws, pop off the top and slide off the turning gear attached to the base motor. As you can see from the photos, the lighting from the LED base is bright and really makes the piece come alive. What you can't see on the still pictures is the way the light transition causes the dome of the Moon Jellyfish to shimmer - causing it to appear to move. Needless to say - I love this base. It was inexpensive, delivered on-time and really looks good.

The seller was very quick in sending me this product. I like to use this with my glass sculptures as a childrens' nightlight. The kids really like the colors and the different glass pieces for an ever-changing night time experience. I had one I bought in a boutique in Las Vegas before purchasing this one. It was more expensive but was of better quality. This one has the a/c adaptor (that's a must) because the battery driven kind are real junk. However, the cord is cheap. When I shut off the machine in the morning, it humms, loudly. I don't feel it's very safe to keep plugged in the entire day humming like that so I have to unplug it every morning. I also am displeased with the choices it gives you to select from. The lights flash WILDLY. There is only one slow setting and it's the white light that blinks off and on slowly. I don't like that it is designed to be used mostly as a strobe light. Not exactly what I had in mind when I purchased this machine. I liked the price so I bought two (one as a back up) but I think I will be going back to my Las Vegas boutique for a more expensive purchase and to get what I really want. If you like the wild side, strobe thing, then this would be a good purchase for you. If you're like me and like calm & serene you will be unhappy with this purchase. It's a matter of taste. The cheap cord and subsequent humm is a safety issue as well.

This was horribly made that it was almost laughable. Except I spent money on it. The mirrored top wasn’t even placed evenly onto the top. So it hung off one side and when rotating it wiggled and almost made anything I put on tumble off. Don’t waste your money! I returned it after a day.

Works great- quiet, color-changing and fun. The kids love this rotating, colorful display.

I bought this for a glass turtle I purchased, it looks beautiful, the changing colors of the stand really brings out the beauty. The glass stand is battery operated and also comes with a cord; however I've only used the batteries. All around good product for its price and beauty.

I purchased three of these to highlight some glass globes and such in my entertainment center. The first lasted about four hours before it began making rude noises and then stopped rotating. The second lasted about an hour before it stopped rotating, but that is now a good thing - I bought these for color changing LED's anyway. As there is no separate switch provided for the rotation separate from the lights, I now have the changing LED's with no rotation, which is what I wanted in the first place.I have not contacted the seller because I don't want to be bothered with shipping the defective units back to get a replacement that would likely also be of dubious quality. The initial shipment was timely and the cost acceptable, but this is just a lousy product.Subsequently, I took the first unit apart (three screws) and found the motor gear had stripped. Took the second apart and found the plastic gear motor had split in half. The gear on the motor was removed from both. Actually, this is a good thing, because I wanted the lights but did not want the top to rotate. When the LED's blow, I'll remove the motor (plastic) gear on the third unit before I start to use it.

Over all good. I bought it to display a glass ball made with my sons ashes. For some reason it make a noise that is annoying when turning. Unfortunately there seems to be no option to turn off the spin option so I do not use it. Had to buy another light that does not spin
