Tried multiple times following instructions to get my finger print on the finger pad. I was unsuccessful with this. Wish they would make a video showing the step by step process.

The first thing that I noticed when I opened the box with this safe, it is much heavier than the other pistol safes that I own. I had planned on mounting in a closet on a hollow core door next to the front door, but that will not happen - it would eventually destroy the door due to its weight. After installing 4 AA batteries, it was easy to program the door code and fingerprint reader - AFTER you discover the settings switch. The instructions say it is under the keypad, which it is, but you have to open it and pull back the foam to feel it. It is a very small push button, accessed from the inside pushing up. The keypad and fingerprint seem to work easily, but beware that if you "fat finger" it and mess up a few times, it will lock you out for 30 to 60 seconds - time that may be precious if you really NEED to get to your weapon! Pulling a battery and immediately reinserting will bypass that. It has a backup key to open as well, but it is located on the bottom rear of the unit, not all that easy to get to. All in all, this is a great safe, drawer slides fully open when accessed, and the pistol position is perfect.I would get this again without question, and consider it worth the price.

Got this as a gift for my dad. He was saying how he wanted to get a gun safe for his travel trailer. When this popped up I knew I had to get it. Especially since we often go camping with my 3 1/2 year old niece.

Setting up the safe was very easy. Just follow the instructions, and remember that you need to use the setting button to program the fingerprint and code separately. I have used it about 20 times without any issues. I haven't screwed it into place, but due to its weight, it doesn't have any problems staying shut.

This safe would be great to mount under a table or inside a closet. It would have been nice if they had two different mounting brackets so you could mount it on the side of a nightstand or some place similar but as it is you can still find plenty of places to mount it. You could always modify it by cutting the upper L-shaped part off flush with the top of the same though. It is pretty heavy for what it is and the size of it so keep that in mind when mounting it. Setting it up is pretty simple and only take a few minutes. You can access it by keypad, fingerprint, or a lock on the bottom. This would be great for those with small children to keep little hands away.
