I am not usually one for reviews but I was thoroughly impressed with these shorts. I am a beginner snowboarder (this year being only my second time). Last year, I went home with an extremely sore and bruised tailbone so this year I decided to try these. Let’s just say they did their job! Don’t get me wrong, I still felt impact with certain falls but this year I’m going home with a much happier and not bruised tailbone lol. Padding was great, not too thick but just right. They did make my bibs a little snugger so you may have to size up in bibs/pants if you use them for snowboarding. They were high waisted on me which was perfect because they stayed up the entire time without having to adjust them. Range of motion was slightly affected with squatting/sitting but I think that could simply be adjusted depending on the layers you wear on top of them. Overall, great for snowboarding and highly recommend for beginners!

Great padding. However, I use it for snowboarding and when you put these on, the sides of your butt aren’t protected. It protects your tailbone and thighs and direct behind but not the sides of your butt. I took two falls to my side and bruised the side of my left glute pretty badly. Something to consider if you’re looking for all around coverage/protection. But if you’re falling directly on your butt, it’s a great option. Very comfortable.

Just got back from a snowboarding trip and these saved me. I haven’t snowboarded in 20+ years and I knew I would need something to protect me, and these did exactly that. I am very pleased with this purchase. They fit exactly as described and I didn’t have limited mobility… aside from just being bulkier that normal. My only complaint is that once you take a pad out, you can’t put it back in.

We decided to take snowboarding lessons as a family this year. I love it, but I don’t love the bruises and bumps from learning a new physical sport. On day 2 of lessons I hit my tailbone on ice pretty bad and figured it was time to invest in some protective padding (and more Advil for those of us who are no longer 8). I tried a few brands on and I liked the Bodyprox the best because 1) it provided better full coverage. The padding rode high enough to fully cover my front hip bone and low enough to cover my upper thigh. 2) the padding was more dense but not necessarily thicker which meant it was protective but not bulky. I wore these under my original snow pants, no problem, which was great because I didn’t want to buy new snow pants just for the protective gear. 3) the stretchy fabric and stitching seemed the most sturdy. I will say, the fabric is thin and breathable, so I’m not sure how long it will last but so far so good. The other just looked too flimsy from the get go.So, I took a week to recuperate my tailbone and on day 3 of lessons I headed out in my Bodyprox “butt pads†as I like to call them. I was still icing my tailbone nightly and it was still hella sore, but I’m crazy so I headed out onto the slope anyway. Well... Bodyprox literally saved my ass (am I allowed to say that?). Granted, I fell a lot less, and I didn’t have the hard hit on ice, but the few times I hit my tailbone it didn’t hurt so bad which said a lot to me because trust me, I would have easily reactivated my injury. More importantly, no new injuries (yay!).Bottom line, I will continue to wear my Bodyprox butt savers and highly recommend them to anyone.

just as the title said; its good for the price. very easy to put on and pretty comfortable. protect my side thighs when i fall; but for some reason the middle back part where it suppose to protect your tail bone; it doesnt quiet work as well. my butt were still hurting pretty bad. side thighs was good but just that one middle piece that makes it not worth the purchased; im trying on other brands/design

I had my first spills practicing hockey stops (twice), and both times, the cushion absorbed all impact on the ice (on my butt and side). I previously used something similar (used for inline skating) with harder cushioning, and I was bruised when I fell. Without padding, I lose confidence when doing new things. After falling with this, I was confident to get up and keep practicing.Update: I continue to wear this when skating. When I fall, it completely absorbs the shock. I love it. After almost a year, it is starting to show some wear, but I will probably get many additional months of wear when skating 2-3 times per week. This was a great purchase.

Padding is perfect for rough landings when snowboarding. Sizing is accurate.

I have a 30-31" waist and the Medium size fitted perfectly. The greater trochanter is that part of your femur that forms the boney prominence on the side of your hip. It is subcutaneous; that is, it sits directly beneath the skin with little to no fat or muscle overlaying it. When elderly people fall onto their side, it is the greater trochanter that is prone to fracture. Falling heavily onto concrete in the skate park is also a risk. Greater trochanter fractures are very bad news, no matter what your age. There are 3 side-pads on each side of these shorts. When putting these shorts on, yank them up so that the waist band is above your belly button. In this way, the middle pad will sit directly over your greater trochanter on each side. The upper rim of your pelvic bone is called the superior iliac crest. It is usually easy to feel; when you put your "hands on your hips", the length of your index finger typically is resting on the crest. With the shorts yanked up, the upper side-pad will sit directly over the crest. In this way, these 2 prominent bones will be maximally protected, even though you might feel a bit of a dork. But hey, no-one needs to know.I'm happy with this purchase.
