I bought this to add to my camping gear. Had seen it used on a few videos and figured it would be suitable for my purposes. Made very well, sheath is very thick leather …. Happy with my purchase.

Trying to make a branch into a dowel/peg that will fit into the hole drilled doesn't work. The first time, I was able to do it, the second time it got stuck--couldn't bang it all the way down and it was hard to remove. Third time, I shaved the branch down close to size, banged it on, and couldn't get it off. Had to drill it out with another bit. Glad I tried it at home.The little ferro rod is cute, but heavy considering how little of it there is. Nice gimmick but returned it all.

I have never used this product ; however, from inspecting the one I have received , it looks more than capable of boring holes into logs ; furthermore, the other end where the loop is welded to the auger bit is tapered on the out side to cut dowel rods . These dowel rods will fit in the bored holes nicely.

The product appears to be good quality, including the leather holster. I haven’t used it yet, but look forward to doing so. I will submit another review when I do.

This “drill†is actually a great idea. But it’s not anywhere close to being as simple as the description suggestsIt is light weight and easy to carry. But quite difficult to use.

I used this auger and it got stuck on the log and couldn’t get it out. I had to use a hammer to get it unstuck and it broke!! Now it’s useless!!
