This is by far the best and most accurate color checker you can have. The passport pocket size makes it absolutely easy to have on every shoot for every shot, no excuse. So long as you have your exposure set properly, the color will be accurate, between shots, and even help with different cameras.Editing has been a breeze as far as coloring goes. It's a bit pricey for a color chart but worth every penny.

I use the in Final Cut Pro X for color balancing my video clips. I take a quick video of the card in each area I ad shooting in and use the Hue Sat Curves to get the Hues, Saturation and skin tones corrected so I am already for color grading. I like the small size and that it is in a hard plastic case. It is a pain to open, but it is also secure from damage.

If you’re stepping up your video game and learning to color correct, one of these cards is invaluable - particularly with a case and lanyard to leave easy access to it. Let’s face it, these cards do you no good if you leave it in your bag or at home because it’s a hassle.However, the fact that such stiff cheap plastic hinges were used on this make me livid. To charge so much (and additionally charge MORE because it’s the passport model) for something that feels like it will snap in half every time I open it is infuriating. You guys can seriously do better for your customers.

I use Final Cut Pro and after I get done with a video shoot in C-LOG 3 on my Canon R6, I apply the canon Factory LUT on an Adjustment layer in Final cut. From there Ill go to a shot of the Color Checker and apply another adjustment layer where Ill grade the colors precisely to the Vector Scope and white balance.This color checker takes all the guess work out of color grading by eye, and after you use it, you won't want to go back to eyeballing your color grading and white balance ever again. Ultimately I see it as a huge time saver, and my time is worth more than the price of this important tool. I highly recommend it.

Paired with the software, Color Finale, you will be able to get a great base color grade very quickly, which is great if you have quick turnaround times for your films.

The Good: You get very accurate colors which is why you are paying such a high price for a such a simple product.The Terrible: They use the cheapest plastic that has ever been manufactured to protect your relatively high dollar investment. It's spitting in the consumers face to say we are going to charge you this much for accurate colors but make such a poor quality plastic case for it. It doesn't protect well. It doesn't open an close well. It is easily the most flimsy piece of garbage that that I have ever seen of any product at any price point. My child toy make-up case is far superior and cost me $8 for an entire set. It is a conscience decision to make such a poor quality product.What I Would Like: To pay $10 more for a product that has a decent case. I'm not even asking for good. I'm just asking that you not insult me with your poor quality protective case. I will buy a less accurate card in the future that has a quality case because a slightly less accurate card has more use than a broken highly accurate card.My Advice: Pass on this piece of junk until the company has more respect for its customers.

First off, let’s address what we are paying for: color and white balance accuracy. Now, can this be achieved more cheaply? Yes. Does that mean this is a product that has no value at its price point? No.As others have mentioned, the construction of this device is such that opening it feels as if you’re prying open the hundreds of years old rusted hinges of an iron gate. It feels like you’re going to break it every single time. This is obnoxious. And at this price point should not be so cumbersome and cheap feeling.It should be obvious due to it being called the Passport, but it’s literally passport sized. For some this may be convenient, but due to the small size I find it doesn’t suit some situations, like longer or darker shots. Again, at this price point, I expect it to work in every situation.I’m probably going to return this and get a cheaper 18% grey card, as I find that this is the only tool I really use out of the lot. For others, I understand this suite of colors and options is invaluable, but for me it’s superfluous and overpriced.

I went to buy this passport version of a color chart. When I opened the box the color chart was different from the charts that I have bought in the past. It’s still totally usable. it was a mistake on my part as I didn’t know there were different color configurations.

El Calibrite ColorChecker Passport Video es una herramienta que, aunque no he usado mucho, me parece que aporta un extra de fiabilidad en el trabajo con VFX, especialmente cuando se trabaja con Resolve. La posibilidad de tener un control más preciso del color es un plus que me da tranquilidad al saber que estoy trabajando con una referencia fiable, aunque, en mi caso, no la haya utilizado tanto como pensaba.Lo que más me gusta de este dispositivo es justamente esa fiabilidad en cuanto a la corrección de color, algo que es clave cuando se está trabajando en proyectos que requieren precisión. Sin embargo, tengo que admitir que me parece bastante caro para lo que ofrece. Si bien la calidad es indiscutible, no creo que esté justificado el precio para un uso tan ocasional.A pesar de todo, no creo que esté de más tenerlo en mi kit, ya que, aunque no lo use a diario, en los proyectos donde lo he necesitado, ha demostrado ser útil. En resumen, es una buena herramienta para quienes trabajan en colorimetrÃa o VFX de forma profesional, pero no es algo indispensable para todos.

Had to watch some YT videos to learn how to use it, but after I did it saved me so much time and headache. I use it with Final Cut Pro but it's even easier to use with Davinci Resolve.Pros:1. Does what it claims to do2. Fits anywhereCons:1. Pricey2. PlastickyCan't give it a 5 because of the price but even though it costs a lot for what it is, I'd definitely be willing to buy it again if I lost it.
