Having a handle attached to this plug end makes this a great product. It's a well thought out, well manufactured/designed product. This plug end was attached to the end of a twenty-five foot SOOW, 10/4 cable to be used as a jumper between an emergency generator and an electrician installed, 50A RV receptor on the side of the house next to the electric service box for easy service disconnect.Plug ends this hefty are hard to pull out, especially if inside an all weather outlet cover box where there's little room to maneuver your hand. With the addition of the handle, the plug end is much easier to remove. This is a good thing. :)The assembly takes a bit of time at the project table as the leads have to be cut and stripped to specific lengths specified in the directions. It's not a difficult task, but it is a bit of a time consuming pain to make sure it's measured and done right. The more care one takes in cutting and stripping the cable wires to well defined direction specs, the more easily the assembly will go.Tip: When assembling the cable strain relief collar, add a dab of latex/siliconized caulk to the inside and outside of the strain relief collar as well as the small gap between the strain relief collar and the plug body. This will help keep snow and water out which will effectively make the plug end more water resistant. Doing so also gives the plug end a more finished look/feel. Warning: Adding the caulk in this fashion won't make the plug-end "waterproof." A cable end of this kind will be used out in the weather and considering the amps this plug-end is designed to push, "more" water resistant is a good thing; peace of mind.I found this product to be the top dog of this group and for those with a "Prime" membership, two-day shipping is included. At current gas prices, this eliminates the need to drive to a RV or hardware store hunting for an item of this kind.

Installed on the 50amp cord I bought. Really like the handle on it to plug into the wall outlet for my Backup Generator System.

Replaced my damaged 50 amp plug end. The most time consuming part of the install was backswing off the old plug and cutting away insulation and wire stripping wires. Instructions were simple to follow and spot on.

I don't write many reviews but was most impressed with this plug. #1) the plastic is sturdy, no concerns with durability. #2) The handle makes pulling it out of the socket a breeze. #3) the cable retention design allows for various sizes of cable through a unique design. #4) The wire connection allows for excellent contact with the blades. #5) I measured the temperatures of the socket under about 38amps of load and only measured a couple degree rise. I saw some photos of failed sockets with folks charging their Tesla's. That is probably closer to the rated 50A but can't imagine an issue with that if you get good wire insertion and contact. Finally, I saw some comments about how it was difficult to tighten the screws. I attached a picture showing how the blades remove so that you can get good torque on the connections. No regrets, bought two of them for generator connections.

Seems to be the best NEMA 14-50 plug on the market. Quite sturdy and easy to wire. Quite ergonomic for a plug that is usually notoriously stiff to insert/remove. I've bought a few already and will likely buy more. The only issue is the price has gone up.

Well suited for 6/3 wire, plenty of room inside the housing and you can easily take the terminals out to secure the wires. Feels sturdy and much better quality than the other cheaper 14-50 plug you can find, well worth it.

This is a plastic mold in two pieces. Not the greatest quality but if it's used occasionally and with care, I am sure it will last a few years. Connecting the wires is easy and fast, I use it with an 8 AWG SOOW cable.
