Using my Makita 18v batteries to power this jumper set, I was able to boost a 2018 Dodge Cummins diesel engine at -26°c! While the batter was too low to start the truck, it had just enough power to turn the glow plugs on and the lights, etc. but as soon as I went to start it, it would not crank over. But when I connected this, seeing an opportunity to test it out, I was doubtful of success. Wow! What a surprise!After running the glow plugs a few cycles, I attempted to start the big diesel. And to my surprise, within 3sec, the truck ck coughed to life. And it had plenty of power to do so with my Makita battery doing the powering of it. Shocker.When I checked my power level of my battery afterwards, I was surprised to see that it had only consumed about 1/8 of its power reserve. And as the cold night progressed, I ended up boosting 2 other vehicles on the same battery. Making me wonder why the fleet had not chosen a different brand! But also making me grateful to have gotten this booster.The power clamps hold fairly well to the terminals. And make good contact without struggling. And although the kit itself is extremely lightweight and compact, the material and design quality is exceptionally good for providing decent power for quite a few attempts at starting. It maintains decent temperature while boosting. But I recommend allowing time to cool if it doesn't start the vehicle in a short attempt of 30sec bursts, with breaks of 1min between. And it should allow for a very reasonable life span.A very good value. And a must have for any compact emergency roadside service kit.

This is a great tool to have around. It makes the “emergency jump starter†(A.K.A a drill battery) much safer and hassle free. I am impressed with the quality and I feel a lot more comfortable jumping the car off a drill battery. This may not be a necessity, but it will decrease the amount of times you get shocked by quite a lot!I highly recommend this product.

This car jump starter adapter is an alternate way compare to a typical car jump starter. It doesn’t have its own battery to start the car. It needs to use a Makita battery for the source of battery power.Install and remove battery is as easy as the same on Makita tools. There is a LED at the bottom to show the status of the adapter. Jump start a car is easy. Install the battery, the green light may flash to indicate the adapter is charging itself. Wait for the LED light turn green then start the car engine. The only thing needs to remember is that need to disconnect it quickly after the car get started.The plastic enclosure has good quality, smooth and rounded at every corner. The clamps are good quality too. They can hook up onto the battery terminals tightly.I noticed the symbols on the adapter are confusing. It is better to using wording than the symbols to tell the status of the LED light patterns.

This is perfect for jump starting vehicles, sea doos, atvs, sleds etc. Full disclaimer, your results will be directly affected by which batteries you own. If you have the 1.5 or 3.0 batteries they definitely will hinder performance compared to if you are using 9.0 or 12.0 high demand or high output batteries.I have used this to jump start the generator on a 5th wheel camper, side by sides and an ATV. Also worked on a ford escape that needed a "Jump".I think on any smaller application like a side by side you will always be successful with this. Just follow the indicator lights and then turn the key. For vehicles this will work for a legitimate "jump" but don't expect it to start a vehicle that dead to the world, you will need booster cables and another vehicle for sure.
