Plug this in and it starts working. Shows relative humidity, CO (carbon monoxide) in ppm (parts per million) and temperature in degrees Fahrenheit. Nice and bright and easy to read. They say it detects gas leaks too. I don't see a readout for this.

A couple of weeks ago we had a gentleman die in our neighborhood from a fire. The fire department has taken the proactive steps of making sure landlords provide carbon monoxide detectors, fire alarms and they look around to make sure you have clear paths. Well BEFORE I found out about our poor neighbors and the inspections I saw this and was ecstatic! While we have carbon monoxide detectors we do not have gas detectors and we have gas heat and a gas stove with no ventilation. So this combo heat, gas, carbon monoxide detector is a perfect addition along with a fire blanket and extinguisher I am going to ask our landlord for. I absolutely think people should have a gas detector. A great choice and reasonably priced.

The display is easy to read with temperature and relative humidity displayed along with the more critical ppm for CO and %LEL for natural gas. We live in the Midwest where natural gas is used for heating homes along with some clothing driers and gas ranges for cooking. If the heat exchanger in the furnace cracks (allowing dangerous levels of carbon monoxide gas to enter the vents) we need to know quickly. On rare occasions homes also blow up when natural gas leaks and accumulates in the basement (it is heavier than air).The readout allows the home owner to know if either of these gases are present, even if they are not at dangerous levels. Carbon monoxide starts to present danger at around 50 ppm, but being aware if 25 ppm is present brings attention that a potential issue should be investigated. Same with natural gas, where the %LEL (lowest Explosive Level) would need to be 100% to be dangerous, but normally there should not be any natural gas in the air.The detector does not include any certification markings. Most gas appliances and alarms are certified by CSA to verify by a third party that they pass all applicable standards. There is no way to know how or if this detector passed any tests to verify functionality.

I like this small convenient size detector. I have a gas stove, but have electric heat. So I do not have a high chance of CO, but I have been noticing a gas smell in my kitchen. This size leak detector is perfect for me to keep plugged in in my kitchen.I don't have a way to test how accurate this thing is. I don't really have a way to generate CO. I did test the gas leak detection by turning on my stove without lighting it. After a few seconds, I was able to get an elevated gas reading with the meter connected on the opposite wall from my stove.

This Co2 and gas detector works well. It conveniently plugs in so you don’t have to hassle with batteries. It’s easy to use and read. The light and sound alarms will definitely get your attention. The display also shows temperature and humidity which is a plus. The sleek design and functionality is impressive. Highly recommend!
