This thing is about half the size I was expecting. I opened the package and thought "Gods help me... this is gonna suck." I lit some incense and said a prayer, then set to work. It really did suck; I was on my hands and knees, dripping with sweat (it's a real workout for this little Hobbit) as I scraped against the carpet of my bedroom, a room I vacuum regularly, for nearly an hour.HOWEVER...With every scrape I could hear the screams of a thousand pet hairs being ripped asunder under my very hands. It was as if I'd lit the beacons of Minas Tirith and Rohan answered my Call For Aid! I was pulling big wads of cat hair from the rake every few minutes, throwing them into a pile like the bodies of slain orcs until they could be bagged for removal. I then turned to Those Who Dwell in My Vacuum to take care of the rest. The war has been won, and my carpet is now the cleanest is been in... probably ever.I wish the photos did that pile actual justice. It literally filled a plastic grocery bag. If you have pets, save yourself and your vacuum some time on your journey home: Make sure to bring one of these back to The Shire with you!!!

This works amazing on the new fluffy carpet we just got in my girls room. Great craftsmanship worth every penny durable crafted material and is extra cute looking

The prongs are good quality, but the metal head separates from the wooden handle constantly. Might get a higher quality one.

This is 2 pieces, the wood handle and a metal piece that incorporates the tines and fits into the handle. Vigorous raking will pull the metal piece out of the handle, and after it comes out the first time it becomes progressively looser each time you stick it back together. The solution to that problem is some glue. Epoxy or a thick glue like Walthers Goo will work very well. (Amazon link below) Otherwise, this carpet rake is very robust.https://www.amazon.com/Walthers-904-299-Goo-Glue-Cement/dp/B002SZ88K4/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1ETXYOXR6FUG6&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.cXa0VHI5RuW5Di31jkSiJn4pYQ_JdkBaydgvxAnB7YdmsXRtx1okfNtVf6Uq4a74HdH3zHZr6jX6l2SsqrigrOhbRJC_soylaY2B24uYEru5VGE4Kv_-63ngQsobw8cF27As3hyaXGXjSgp94hO64SL95ajunKz1XltMW-4OlhwCxRB_2AC9RzzvwlRI_URU0dKgCEAQ8aw82h4SYrq3FShK_M0-yjb0InW7qutDlOVSUtf-r3DEc-i4ehA_9aHLvnqjTeNtYwdNTDPze-Hgid_MFgQR8A-ezlqzmdVxFH4PhwLHdvF3p4VGzSsbj3jApoZkeCdhQXCnS5v0BkTIA5ZF1WyNx_KARc5y_SCdZml61LZd_8Y6JgeyOSjPyjhd1X0qXKiQxsjrf0CUHOqP16OQ1-8yHlN2UVWqdeFRqljsZsiLn2ArIt0LlH7B0rH0.pYlIPLlrbhny2IX3CE4anubKCT_hUVw1Dc3e6Y-moRE&dib_tag=se&keywords=walthers+goo+glue&qid=1737146845&sprefix=walthers+goo%2Caps%2C126&sr=8-1Squeeze a good amount of the goo in the hole and put it together. Let dry for several days and it won't come apart anymore. Then it will be a really good tool, capable of fluffing up matted carpets for years.

When I first opened my package I was surprised to see how small this carpet rake tool was. I have a long shaggy 6 section sheepskin and gave it a try. Works like a charm! Highly recommend. Good things can come in small packages.

Was a wee smaller than expected, but it does say hand held, it works great to fluff the carpet back up though!
