This thing is really cute- my cat loves it. And he's 17 yrs old and has some health issues but he's still able to enjoy playing with this toy every day. He likes when it's switched on, but he also plays with it when it's off, since the mouse still hangs low enough for him to reach. It's also super sturdy. I think that even if a bobcat were to play with it, lol, the string would break long before the clamp would come loose. So far we've had it for a month and there is no sign of a frayed string or damaged mouse toy. I don't have a lot to spend, but this was well worth the purchase. Oh- and it holds a charge for at least 5 days too, if not a full week. And it doesn't take long to recharge.

I purchased this cat toy for my Maine Coon in November, and it has proven to be an exceptional investment. It provides my cat with prolonged entertainment. The toy is rechargeable and features a pulley system with a string and mouse attachment. Once charged, which occurs rapidly, it can be hung in a doorway using the durable hooks provided. Upon activation, the pulley moves the string erratically, prompting my cat to chase and jump for it.

My youngest cat, Bagel, loves the original hanging door mouse toy we have, but when a friend showed me her own version of this automatic mouse toy I knew we had to have it.Seriously this is probably one of the best purchases I've ever made. Bagel is high energy and he is obsessed with this toy. It wiggles and flops around, which catches and keeps his attention. He even plays with it when it is turned off. He can often be found sitting beneath it, meowing to ask that the toy be turned on for him! LolMy only cons:- string often gets a bit wild and ends up wrapped over top of the round cover on the motor and gets stuck. When it does, the motor keeps going and you either listen to it make a very annoying whining noise as it tries to run, or you have to repeatedly get up and unwide it. It never tangles or anything, just wraps a loop up and around so the motor can't move the string.Battery could be better. It does run for a cycle where it goes for period of lile 10-15 minutes, stops for a break and then turns on again. This cycles goes for about 2 hours before it will shut itself down and you will need to press the button if you want to restart the cycle. But the battery lasts only for a day or so under intermittent use. It can be a bit taxing to recharge it often, but Bagel loves it so I'll do it.Overall, definitely worth the purchase. I have recommended this toy to lots of family and friends.

It's 1 year later and I'm pleasently astonished that this toy is still in 1 piece and working! I bought a simular, much less durable one that broke in an hr. before this one so I was hesitant to buy but I'm glad I did! cats love it. Love that the mice have little hoops to tie to, not just attatched by the string and once it's ripped off you have to try to tie it around the mouse. Came with 2 different length rope. my cats Stull haven't chewed through it, and if they did you could still attach again. Great toy design.

My cats absolutely love this toy! And it comes on and stays on and goes off when itรขโฌโขs supposed to. I would like it to come on more oftenรขโฌยฆ But itรขโฌโขs still a great toy. But hereรขโฌโขs the problemรขโฌยฆ The clamps at the top that hold the toy on your door frame or wherever you choose to put itรขโฌยฆ Have broken. I fixed them or tried to..over and over again with tape and everything else just to get it to stay upรขโฌยฆbut they are pretty spent. You have no choice..you must unclamp it regularly to take it down in order to charge it a lot so thereรขโฌโขs no way of trying to preserve the clamps! Good toy and is still working even though I have had to find creative ways multiple times to reattach it up again on the doorway. รฐลธหโข

I have two cats -- one (3F) who's ~11 lbs and loves ribbons and her son (2F) who's ~20 lbs and loves wand toys. My boy will carry his iron man wand toy over to me, drop it at my feet, and meow at me multiple times a day because he always wants to play, but when both I and my roommate are working on our dissertations, we don't always have time to drop things and play. Enter this toy. We'd had a non-mechanized door toy that was basically a mouse on a string that hooked onto the top of a door, but my boy broke it within an hour of unboxing it. We had to jury-rig it so he could still play with it, but eventually it became too broken to use. Having a gigantic baby cat is not super easy because he has lots of youthful energy but also doesn't realize how big and strong he is. I got this toy honestly assuming he'd break it in a day, but it's been two weeks and it's still going. Both of the cats love this toy so much. Baby was a little scared at first because of the noise, but once mama cat went to check it out and started playing, he was all in. I turn it on, and they both come running. My ~20 lbs baby boy will grab the mouse with his teeth and back away, dragging it as far as he can, and the grip doesn't budge. We don't even have it on a door frame right now -- just the bit of the kitchen counter that juts out into the living room.Overall, 4.5/5 stars, but I'm rounding upPROS- stays where you put it. Even with a ~20 lbs cat pulling on the cord at full strength, it doesn't budge. However, it's still easy for humans to move around- entertains BOTH of my cats, even with their different toy preferencesCONS- charger is a little finicky. I can't use my phone charger (also USB-C) but the charging cord we keep plugged in for their laser toy works just fine- THREADING IT IS SO ANNOYING OMG. I've done it once (incorrectly) and again (correctly) and if I never have to do it again, it'll be too soon. The C-hole is very tiny, and it's very difficult to get the end of the cord through it in such a cramped space.- the cord can get tangled pretty easily. It gets wrapped around itself and knotted up on the spool so it won't really work, and sometimes it'll catch itself on basically any item that's somewhere near it (shelf, chair, etc.)

Cats were not interested in the toy. No way of recoiling the string or easy way of determining if the toy is turned off completely when not in use, expect better at this price point.
