The green luminous button is for dimming, this button is made of fluorescent material, it can help you find the remote control in the dark.
This ceiling fan and light remote control has the function of dimming.
The light dimmer compatible with incandescent light bulbs and some dimmable LED lamps.
Most LED lights and all CFL lights are non-dimmable, light dimmer only supports the ON/OFF function in this case, and it may cause to flicker when using the dimming function.
Note: Not recommended for use with hugger style ceiling fan.

Check the part number on the back of your original remote, it need to have one of the FCC ID/Model numbers listed below.

It adds remote control compatibility to any fan.
This remote controller is designed for 3-speed ceiling fan to separately control your ceiling fan speed and light brightness. This RC-53T remote control have HI/MED/LO 3-speed and OFF for fan speed control.
Please note that this remote not have the Reverse button.
LIGHT/DIMMER button just controls the brightness of halogen and incandescent lamps On/Off/Dimming, it also compatible with some dimmable LED lights. Most LED lights and all CFL lights are Not Dimmable, and the remote only control the On/Off in that case.
Remote Control Electronics
Our remote's electronics is on the front of remote, if the remote control is not disassemble, the electronics cannot be seen.
Please check the above pictures. This is normal.
Just need to set the same DIP code of your original remote or receiver, and put a 9V battery, the remote can work.
Easy to Set Up the Remote Control
- Setting the same codes on the transmitter and the receiver.
- 16 different frequencies that can be set for the receiver and the transmitter.
- The default setting is 0000, and it is not recommended.
- Tips: Remote control's 4 DIP switches are in the battery compartment (they are hidden behind the slot for the battery itself).
NOTE
1. If you have PULL CHAINS SWITCH, before using the wireless remote control, use the PULL CHAINS SWITCH to turn the wind speed to maximum and turn the fan light on. Only in this way can the PULL CHAINS SWITCH and wireless remote control be used together.
2. If you have multiple ceiling fans in your home, please make sure that the PIN code settings are different between them, otherwise it is likely that the transmitter next door activates the ceiling fan in your bedroom. This will cause the ceiling fan to turn on strangely while you sleep.

Lost the controller to our ceiling fan. Don’t know how we managed to do that. I think it went the same place the socks do in the dryer. Ordered this one adjusted a couple of the toggle switches and worked perfectly.

This was a plug and play replacement for a 20+ year old Hampton Bay remote that no longer worked. The rubber conductive pads wear out over time and I couldn't revive them. This one even looks the same. Side note: I installed a second remote fan control unit in a different fan whose light switch had worn out. To my great surprise, the transmitter operated the other fan and not the intended one! Both were set to the factory default code, but I was astonished that the new one was compatible with a different make over 20 years old.

Replaced an identical ceiling fan controller the light power button had failed to work anymore.It only needs a battery and the DIP switches changed to the same code as the old on, very easy to do.But this new one has a balky power switch and requires a significant button push to get the light on/off. Plus the 9 volt battery rattles in the remote, so I added a bit of folded paper towel to stop the rattle.Cheaper than buying an entire ceiling fan for the bedroom.
