Finally someone made a fan control that works with Alexa. The wiring is straight forward. The pairing instructions are wrong. You need to use the pairing to remote instructions to get it to connect to your network but other than that it's great. Will be ordering more for other fans in the house!

I have a 25 year old Honeywell fan that has the controller imbedded in the fan, as well as the 19 year old stand-alone kit on the master bedroom fan. This remote worked perfectly. This remote is slightly lighter than the original, due to the technology. The old was flooded with components inside, where this appear to be a single chip. Also, the switches are different. The old one had a metal type contact on the rubber button that would make contact to two traces on the circuit board. Eventually those contact on the board or rubber button wear out and there is no fixing them after a few years of disassembly and cleaning. This new remote has a click type feeling like a real switch, vs. a mushy rubber feel. While I didn't take the new remote apart, I feel that I would be able to replace the switch for a buck if needed.Very happy overall that this dip-switch programmable remote is still available.

The remote itself works fine after install but this can’t be connected to WIFI. I have many devices using the smart life app, so I know the issue isn’t there. Save your money and avoid this product.

Just installed my first one and promptly put in an order for 2 more. As easy to install as any other fan controller. Was easy to set up with the app after I found the button combination to get the device in pairing mode (the app pairing mode instructions weren’t right). Worked well with google including adding a separate light, fan, and combo option for google voice commands. Few options for this exist, especially with the option to dim the light and at this price point.I only give the remote control 4 stars because I’m not a fan of the bulky remote style (the fan came with a much more attractive option that I wish worked with this Wi-Fi controller) but the quality is on par with other fans that have the same remote style. Will update the review if I have any long term issues.

I purchased this to replace a broken and outdated remote control unit for one of our ceiling fans. This one caught my eye because of the larger remote and individual buttons for fan speed control, plus I wanted to be able to integrate it into routines in our growing smart home. The receiver was an easy drop-in replacement of the old unit (you'll want to have two people for installation, though: one to hold the fan in place while the other connects the wiring). The remote is already paired and works great! To set it up for WiFi integration, the instructions were not super clear - I had to look at other people's reviews to find out how to successfully do this. In the instructions, you must follow the Pairing directions to get the receiver to be discoverable for WiFi setup (the directions make this seem like it's for pairing the remote, but it clearly isn't). Once this is done, the fan light(s) will flash, then the Smart Life app should pick it up - easy WiFi setup from there. The app works well - you can adjust the fan speed [OFF, 1 (low), 2 (med), 3 (hi)], and you can turn the light ON/OFF and dim from 1-100%. Once either the light or fan is ON, an option for cutoff timer will appear - you can set this up to power off either the light or fan motor after a particular time period. Integration does work well with Alexa and Google Home, though it will initially show up as 3 entities: "fan," "fan," and "fan switchled" - the "fanswitchled" controls just the light, and one of the two "fan" options is for controlling just the motor. I had to rename these two as "Fan Light" and "Fan Motor" for individual control over each component. The other "fan" option will power BOTH the light and motor off and on simultaneously with a command (voice or pressing the softkey in the app). My only disappointment is that in the Settings of the Smart Life app, it does list Samsung Smartthings as an additional third-party app control for this unit. However, Smartthings does not find it at all, even after reestablishing a new connection with all of my Smart Life devices. I personally prefer Smartthings because it has WAY more options for integrating and animating devices; however, Alexa's routines will work okay for this fan as well.

To start, this product was very easy to install. Took about 10 minutes to get it up and running. The control module easily fit under the canopy of my fan. My fan canopy housing hangs down below the ceiling box a bit, so it would also work if the fan was in a pancake box.Fan works great. 3 speeds available.Dimmer does not dim. Lights are either on or off. Not a deal breaker for me in this particular use case, but if dimming was required in this room, I'd be returning it.Pairing w/ the Smart Life app is tricky. You can't go by the wifi directions in the box. Like another reviewer mentioned, you have to use the Learning Code Method (usually for programming a replacement remote.) Turn the unit on and then hold the LIGHT and HI buttons for 5 seconds. Smart Life found it right away using this method. And if you enable the Smart Life skill in Alexa, you'll have voice control.

Works. Made my regular fan a smart fn for half the cost. Use the smart life app to set up.

Got this for the bedroom so that I could have my phone to operate it, and my wife could have the remote. Works as advertised, the voice commands leave a little bit to be desired from Google, but that's expected anymore. I'm using tuya to control it.
