hoping to turn a one and a quarter inch image train into a 2 inch image train on my XLT Omni 127. It worked. This fits in place of the visual back and allows a 2†image train

It can replace 1.25" back and allow use of 2" eyepieces.

Wow arrived allready, even before says was delivered. Well built and soild. One issue I have had is I have a Williams 2" diagonal and was very tight getting in. Think thr copper ring has a slight issue, but got the diagional in.Not such a big concern to drop down a star.Very good quality.

I have used a Tele Vue 2" SCT adapter for a couple of years. Tele Vue's adapter has two clamping screws that secure against a brass ring to hold diagonals or other items that are inserted. Celestron's adapter is nearly identical, but has one clamping screw that secures against a brass ring, but it holds everything securely. I attached the adapter to a 9.25†SCT tube, then inserted a 2†extender and tightened the clamp screw. I was able to lift and shake the scope just holding on to the extender; the assembly was very tight and did not move or loosen at all. The Celestron adapter is also less than half of the price of Tele Vue's adapter. I suppose that Astromania, Gosky, or Solomark might have similar adapters for less, but I have had issues with some of the brass compression ring technology on some of the devices offered, and Celestron has a great return/replace policy, even if you didn't buy directly from them. It was worth the extra $2 for the unneeded replacement policy.

I attach a Sony a6500 to my Celestron C5, and the 1.25" visual back is just "okay". This converts the visual back to a 2" and it now feels as sturdy as a Hulk. Worth it, in my opinion.

It fits right on my 30+ year old C5 Spotter. The compression ring is nice too.You will have to provide your own 2" to 1.25" adapter.
