Bought this to for the purpose of cleaning out a hole left dirty by an old BMW (1999 528i) water pipe (plastic with o ring ends). Worked perfectly for that. Seems like quality tool that would work as it should for anything.

Worked very well for my purposes. I used it to cut threads into UHMW plastic material so I can't comment on how it would do in metal. If I had been intending to use it to thread metal I would have opted for a HSS version instead of high carbon steel. HSS is more typical of bits used to cut metal especially steels. Visually it seems of very high quality with well defined and sharp looking cutting edges.

I have a Jet 1221VS, and this tap is the perfect size to thread a 7/8 drilled hole to fit my 1" 8 TPI headstock on the lathe. I made a few sanding drums, and I'm looking forward to making more jigs and fixtures for future turning. This tap made clean threads, and I did not have any issues. It should last forever since I'm only using it in hardwood.

I liked the end results. I do not have a thread micrometer so how accurate is it, do not know. It thread fine on to the threads my lathe made.

Dings, nicks and burrs covering two of the flutes of the tap straight out of packaging. Grease and grit in multiple threads. Cutting edge feels very dull and rounded.
