I needed to clear the threads of my new brake calipers as the remanufacturer had used a ceramic coating that got into the mounting holes. This tap cleared the holes with ease and the calipers were easy to mount.

I bought this to chase threaded holes from my 3d printer. I realize this is not a demanding requirement. I forgot to print one of the holes and had to tap it complete. No problems there.I have quite a bit of machining experience and have worked with taps often.This seems to be the same quality as the taps I have used and I would have no hesitation using it to tap metal.

Sort of like harbor freight tools. You get it because you only need it for one job because you don't expect it to last much longer than that. This worked fine but there was somehow rust in the threads when it arrived. Still got the job done.

I was using a fairly hard steel and I was surprised at how easily the tap cut even in a slightly undersized hole.

I had a suspension mounting point with a badly damaged thread. The tap did a nice job of cleaning it up.
