STEP1
Push the lock at the end ofthe pitter and press the handle to unlock the pltter.
STEP 2
Take off the stem of the cherry, put it into the cherry slot on the pitter, and line up where the stem was to the punch bar.
STEP 3
press the handle to pit the cherry.

As a French person, it took me a little while to figure out what this kind of tool is called in English... Anyway! I was fondly watching the cherries that arrived at the beginning of summer when I came across this magical tool. Now clafoutis and cherry ice cream are within my reach whenever I want, and this Cherry Pitter is just perfect. Although it was a bit aggressive at first, it only took me a few minutes to pit 600 grams of cherries. Be careful though, sometimes the pits can get stuck if the cherries aren't ripe enough. Also, remember to wear an apron or a smock when pitting your cherries because it splashes and cherry juice stains. The Cherry Pitter is a very good tool. Thanks to it, you can easily make the same clafoutis as in the picture, or if you want to impress your friends, spread puff pastry in a tart pan, place the cherries on it, then pour the flan mixture. I don't know how I've gone so long without a cherry pitter! It works so easily and so well. After heavy duty use, it's never missed the pit or gotten jammed or stuck. Honestly I can really enjoy cherries now that I have this.

Description says stainless steal. Only the the punch and spring. outside is silicone.It does specify that in product description if you go to that area. But it should say that in the opening description. My fault for not reading further but still believe it is misleading up front.

Works as designed. Seems good enough quality for the few times a year I use it.I recommend this cherry pitter if you only need one occasionally.
