I use a CM 1/4 in Add-a-Quarter Plus ruler for Foundation Paper Piecing a lot. Often though, I've thought a little more carved off the seam would help my finished pieces lie a bit flatter. So, now I've added this CM Designs CMD 80008 Add-an-Eighth Plus Ruler to my tool selection. It is fabulous! Use it for really small, fine work (think pinwheels, stars and Mariner's Compass medallions) where lots of thin pieces come together for a central point, or fitting pieced detail work such as the eye of lion. I use the Plus edge to crease the paper pattern out of the way and then Add-an-Eighth edge to trim the seam allowance. Perfect...every time. The Add-an-eighth Plus is also my go-to choice to trim tiny little seams for dolly clothes. For that purpose it even makes the seam allowance small enough to become an enclosed or french seam and then it doesn't matter how often that garment is "Laundered" on play day. Add this tool to your collection, you will find it very helpful.
