Just thought I'd write this review. These were the only spring compressors I found which could fit in between the gap from the spring and shock body of 2.5 coil overs! They had no problem compressing a 650 lb spring about 4" so I could slip a retainer in.I would highly recommend taking them apart, cleaning the threads, and greasing them up. I did that and the tool worked very smoothly with no binding. The threaded rods did bend slightly (as seen in the picture) but they sprung right back to their original shape as soon as the pressure was released.Overall they got the job done and were able to compress the spring 3 times (I forgot to install a peice) without any issues. Much better then the tool I rented from AutoZone which scratched my other coilover and got stuck between the shock body and spring. As long as you use caution, evenly distribute the load between the 2, and grease them up before use, they will work for you too!

I purchased some adjustable coilovers which needed to be rebuilt. The adjustable collar was stuck and not having a proper wrench made adjusting them very difficult. I rented some spring compressors from the automotive parts store and they did not fit between the coils because the coils of the spring are so close together (see image). These ones allow me to slip them between the rungs of the spring and properly compress the springs to get them apart. These are inexpensive, but work really well. Like others have mentioned, the rods do bend under pressure, but straighten once no longer under tension. I would recommend them to anyone who needs some spring compressors.

I used these to install an Old Man Emu Spring on a strut for my Toyota Tundra. At first I tried using them by themselves and they started to bow a lot and became very hard to turn. The springs I was installing are very heavy duty. I went to Oreilly and rented the another set of spring compressors and used to two sets together. Worked like a charm. Felt safe doing it that way. If you were just working on small car springs the one set would be fine. Good tool for the money.

Used on a ram 1500 to install leveling kit. These are high quality compared to some of the Chinese trash online. Don't come in fancy case but still a better product. They put the money into making the tool rather than a case. For heavy duty springs you will want 2 sets of these they flex under pressure but they all do and come right back to normal after removal. Didn't have any issue at all. Don't cheap out on others could be a safety issue.. always check reviews on a tool that could be a danger

I used a pair of these compressor in addition to a pair of McPherson compressor I rented from autozone for the job I was doing. I was installing a 3.5 inch readylift leveling kit on my 2022 ram 1500 and I didn't feel comfortable just using this product alone. Even with using a total of four compressor, these bent pretty extensively when compressed enough for me to install the spacer. Perhaps all I needed were a pair of these compressor but I didn't want to take a chance. If you are working on a sedan or simply compressing the springs to install a new strut on a light truck, this product alone may be enough.

Used this for the first time today. It’s pretty tough besides the wing nut flanges. Even with finger tightening they got bent in half slightly. Otherwise they compressed my spring so I could remove the top hat. I need to get a 15/16 socket though because tightening the bolts down with an adjustable is exhausting! 😬

These are for smaller spring set-ups. Worked like charm on my Scion.

Best type of compressors if you are replacing coil-over type suspension. I started my project by renting compressors from my local auto parts store however, the spring brackets are thick making it difficult to place without scratching the powder coat on the new springs. They work great for the standard Mc. Phearson struts though. I had rebuilt 4 coil-over assemblies for my 96 4Runner and these compressors work great. Mind you, that the springs are much tighter and they require quite a bit of force to compress but, these did the job. As always, you should follow the directions, wear a face shield and do not rush the project as with any compressor. Five stars for quality and fast shipping.

The long teeth scratched the inside of the shock. Good for a car job but not atv. But did the job.
