About this item

  • READ EACH BULLET POINT CAREFULLY OR PRODUCT WILL NOT WORK
  • Adjust ph: ph value must be between 7.2-8.0 BEFORE adding the CYA pouch and the levels must remain in this value to stay affective
  • Chlorine: if required only use liquid chlorine and add it at the opposite end of where the skimmer basket is, remove chlorine pucks from skimmer basket, do not use products with stabilizer (CYA) , high amounts of chlorine can stop the product from working correctly.
  • Pump/Motor: Run the pump 24/7 on slow speed if possible you want to reduce RPM as much as you can, remember run pump 24 hours a day, it takes alot of time for the whole pool to circulate through the pouch.
  • Skimmer Basket: Keep skimmer basket clean, make sure no debris has built up on the surface of the CYA pouch, if you notice build up on the outside of the pouch you may take it out wash it off or flip the CYA reducer pouch for best flow.
  • Be Patient: Check levels after 1-2 weeks, if you do not see a reduction ensure you have a high end test strip that can get a full reading and then contact us for any troubleshooting.
  • WILL NOT work with salt water pools

Unlike the competition's chemical CYA reducer, GreenStory Global's Cyanuric Acid Remover is a filter that sits in the skimmer basket. The filter pouch is filled with carbon and a proprietary resin that absorb CYA from the water. The filter will reduce the total CYA in the pool by about 15 ppm per week. Once the pool reaches the appropriate level, simply throw the filter away. This product does work, but you must follow the directions carefully for it to be effective. Also remember it takes time to work 1-2 weeks to see a significant drop in CYA and you must use a high end PPM test strip to check levels if your CYA levels are above 300ppm they will not even register. If you follow the steps provided in the bullet points and instructions the product will work or we will give you a full refund.

It took a couple months but this DID work. I went from 120-130 to 80 from December to February. Just have to give it time, winter is the perfect opportunity. Saved me from having to drain 20k gallons! Thanks.I had my pump running constantly, about 1400rpm.

This did not work at all. I have a 28,000 gallon pool with two skimmers, a variable speed pump, and an auto cover. I used one filter pouch in each skimmer for 5 weeks but it did not lower my CYA at all. The instructions are ridiculous. It says you need to keep your chlorine at 0-1ppm, and run your pump at 1500 RPM, which is about 30% slower than I would normally run. The problem with that is that if you already have high CYA and you try to maintain 0-1ppm of free chlorine and your only running your pump at 1500 RPM you will end up with cloudy water and/or an algae bloom, which is exactly what happened to me after following their instructions for only two days. I then had to shock my pool and wait a few days for the water to clear up. After that I turned my pump back up to 2100 RPM (45gpm) and maintained free chlorine at 2-5ppm. I was only using liquid chlorine, no pucks so I was not adding anymore CYA to my pool. Every time I added more chlorine I would removed the filter pouches and continued running my pump for 12-24 hours before putting the pouches back in. Other than that the pouches were in my skimmers and I was running my pump 24 hours per day. When I started using the filter pouches my CYA was around 110. After 5 weeks my CYA was measuring 100. I'm quite certain the only reason it dropped 10 points was due to the fact that I was also diluting my pool with rain water every time it rained by directing the hose of my cover pump back into the pool. I would not waste your time or money on this product, especially after reading all of the other reviews on Amazon and other sites. Reviews are very mixed with most stating this did not work. I will just resort to partial drain a refill to bring my CYA levels down.

I had no idea if this would work or not based on other reviews I've seen online. Decided to order it here (cheaper than at the big chain pool supply store) and give it a shot. In 10 days, my CYA levels have dropped over 30ppm. So it works for me. The biggest thing to keep in mind is that it works best with little to no chlorine in the pool. I kept in in the skimmer basket for the first 6 days, tested the water and so no improvement. Moved it to the leaf canister on my vacuum and continued using it for another 4 days and retested. Thats when i started to see results. So just follow the instructions to the letter and be patient

We liked the quick delivery. Value for the money is good. However instructions are complicated so functionality is a bit sketchy

I have it in my skimmer for a couple of months. It works. Quite expensive and takes long.

Brought the acid level down as advertised without having to drain the pool. Although it is expensive I didn’t have to go through the time and work of draining and filling the pool up with water prices being high and being under water restrictions.

I ordered this product based on a recommendation from the pool supply company. I had it in my pool for 2 months, and the CYA didn't drop whatsoever. The guy at the supply store said that maybe it was keeping my numbers static since we were going through spring bloom in Arizona. I don't know if that's true or if it simply didn't work because over the course of 2 months the numbers didn't change at all. In my case I think it was a waste of $60, and now I'll need to drain my pool anyway to lower the CYA.

Some people may say it doesn’t work, but it did for me. Started using Friday with chlorine at 1 and PH at 8. 3 days later on Monday, cya dropped from 122 to 96- Almost 10 points a day! I’ve never used anything that dropped it so quick and effectively. Even draining 3 ft from the pool didn’t work this good! I will buy this again in the future if needed!
