Very good quality sound; steely sounding when you strum, but pleasant sounding and does not lean too bright. The sustain is also long. It is not very loud but can get loud enough for yourself and loud enough to be heard on a one story house everywhere(except the busy garage maybe).Easy to tune but let me tell you something before the tuning review. I broke the low E string because I misjudged my octave, so I'll have to buy another one. I haven't changed strings since over half a year. First time I pulled a string, but the string had a safety feature where it won't just come flying about whipping anything it can hit. There was a metal wire inside the coated string which the coated string is coiled over. The metal wire snapped off but coated string where the snapping point is just stretched a little, keeping the metal wire still inside. When all that happened, I didn't injure myself, nor did it give me hypertension; I just heard a soft and quiet bang that let me know I f'd up. I had a weird sequence of fear then massive relief only after I snapped the string. Friendly set of strings. I am currently using the old low E string. I don't know actually if it's the same case with higher note strings.Anyways, like a normal new string it requires stretching. However, this one is very smooth to tune. When tuning, the string wasn't clanging and the pitch do not spike up or down when I spin those tuning handles; just a smooth and gradual increase and decrease in pitching as I was staring at my digital tuner. The strings are very easy on the hands whether you pluck or strum. I can never handle a guitar pick without it slipping so I mainly pick with my fingers and these strings were really amazing. I cleared dust in the wind and sweet child intros easily where I would have struggled with my old strings. I cleared them easy and fast. Some mistakes like plucking a couple strings instead of one gets covered up and even harmonizes well, but in all fairness, some pieces are probably not too sensitive about inaccuracies. The strings are easy to press probably even when your strings are a little too high action. Mine are low action on the nut side so it has been quite effortless. The strings are thin so they kinda seem like they'd cut your finger, but they're comfortably mild and it feels like it would be easy to develop your fingertips(calluses) with these than pushing through rock solid thick strings that are hard to make a note out of.Overall, great set of strings, will be way better when I get the proper low E string soon.Edit: Got my low E string about less than a week ago, and it's just been golden. I really love how these strings sound and how easy they are to play with.

I have to love this company they stand behind their products and the environment! These strings produce great sound they have lasted longer than any other strings that I have used. They're nice and smooth and comfortable on the hands they don't feel sharp. Also D'Addario has sign ups on their site to earn points and free gear and learn stuff and they also give you rewards for recycling your strings!

I've tried a lot of acoustic guitar strings over the years, but these are the winner for me. I use the extra light gauge on my mahogany Martin to accompany my singing... strumming and finger-style and they sound absolutely gorgeous. I play daily and I usually change them every three months. Much longer than uncoated strings, which I think sound pretty dead after 2 weeks.

Tried them based on some YT reviews. After stringing and two rounds of stretching and retuning ( the usual for me) , they stay tuned pretty well right to pitch. Initially, the sound seemed a little "tinny" but they settled in quickly. The feel is fine. I have nine guitars so uncoated would be a drag for me. It is hard to beat good uncoated strings but they seldom last more than a week or two. These seem to be able last for months with only a slight decay in sound quality. I also like the String Joy coated acoustics and electric strings. Fortunately, there are many great string choices out there and everyone is constantly trying to make better strings.

1rst a big thanks to the guy that answered my ? I asked what would make my martins mellow basey sound crisp and like the pro's. He wrote try D'addarioXTAPB1152. Typed it in and here they are. I have been using Martin light silk and steel and sat on them a week wandering will it be better or worse? Tonight I finally put them on. 1rst 2 not happy than saw the strings were wrong. There color system stinks, don't go by that, just look at them. Thickness is very obvious. After I got them on and tuned was very happy. That was the sound I was looking for. So thanks D'addario and a big big thanks to the guy that answerd my ? I have orderd several sets if D"Addario. The last set I got was phosphor bronze 10-47 6 string I luv D"Addario's but in this set The D string was dead I have tried letting it stretch, re strung it and it still just thuds. The other 5 are fine. I am not taking them off. I was unable to contact provider. I am not returning them. I will replace the D string with a old martin D silk and steel. It would be nice if U would send me a D string phosphor bronze .030 ga. I will still buy D"Addario's. well it's been some time now and were back to the same guy that turned me on to these string. It was about a Martin accoustic. Thats history. I have found that different guitars respond different to different strings. U have to find the 1 thats rt for the guitar. The martin is the only 1 that I have these strings on. The rest are all D"Addario but different typs. I got a new 6 string that cost 100$. Ya really. I wanted 1 that I could just leave out and grab. It's neck had a worp, not to much for a begginner. I took yhat all out and lowered the brige saddle. I put a light gauge silk and steel on it but wasn't happy yet. I was playing in 1 night and thought, what If I put a set on that's on the martin. Thanks ta Amazon they keep orders a long ways back. Found them and they are on. The kicker is I have a 100$ guitar that sound like Garth Brooks martin. Thank again to the guy that turned me on to these strings.

I play everyday. I love the natural feeling and they last twice as long at least.

Really love the sound of these.I used to buy Diadario strings for my electric but have been buying the Earthtone string by Ernie Ball for my acoustics.Tried these on a whim and am very pleasantly surprised by the tone.

Nice strings , best I've tried so far for sure . I would recommend them if you've never tried them before. They're a little pricey but I'm hoping they will last a little longer the others I've had.
