D'Addario strings for viola should not be costing SO much more than violin strings! They are manufactured by an American corporation in NY, I think. These strings are not necessarily what you'd call pretty in sound, but as a professional musician who needs to work with newer strings, these are a better option than spending SO much money for some of the German and Nordic strings. As a professional player, 8 hours/day of playing causes strings to wear out by the end of every month. My students, fellow symphony members, and I would change them more frequently than what has become the average duration of four months, were these, and other brands, more affordable.

Very metallic sounding and unclear, but pizz on these strings are really, really loud which is good for the occasional pizz. passage in solos where the accompaniment usually drown the viola. in conclusion its not worth the $100, there are better options out there.
