Deeper tone these last longer then the phospher bronze overly bright strings. Less pick noise. These are the new go to strings sounds great on thin bright mandolins.

Thank goodness for different kinds of strings. For years I used J74s or J75s, sometimes the EXP varieties, and was very happy with them. However, I recently had a custom mandolin built and while my usual strong choices sounded good, I was looking for a bit more. I tried monels and they sounded pretty good, and then I tried some Mangan strings which also were great. However, when I tried these Nickel Bronze 75s the search was over. For whatever reason, they bring out roundness, depth, presence, and volume the other strings didn't. They are my go to strings now and I absolutely love them. Plus, they last a bit longer than the phosphor bronze strings, although not as long as monels. I recently ran out and have been jonesing for a new set. Thank you, D'Addario for making such a diverse line of strings.

I normally use standard EJ74’s. That’s what I’ve used for years. These intrigued me though, so I tried a set, and I’ll have to say that I really liked the sound and feel of these strings. I felt like they made my mandolin sound a little warmer and woodier than normal. Probably the best sounding strings I’ve used, but for the increased cost they didn’t last very long before the plain steel strings started to rust. I always wipe my strings down after playing, but these lasted pretty much the same amount of time as my standard 74’s. So even though I like the sound of them, I don’t feel like it was different enough to justify the increased cost. So I’m going back to the standard EJ74’s.

I'm a D'Addario fan. For the Mando lights are the only way to go on the Mandolin.

These are my favorite strings for my custom Silverangel Mandolin. Clear tone with more resonance then the D'Addario J-74 strings I had on it before. What people need to keep in mind when buying stings however, is that every mandolin and every piece of wood is different. What sounds good on one may not sound good on another. You won't know until you try. Anyone giving an opinion can speak only their own instrument's sound. I have several mandolins and use different strings on each them.

seems to have lost some of their brightness after a few weeks of playing. It's back to watching you tube reviews for me. I play mostly in jam sessions so I need volume and clarity.

I’ve used the $55 Thomastic strings for mandolin for years but it’s getting to be too much$ to put out for strings. So I tired several other less expensive strings and the D'Addario NBM1038 Nickel Bronze have proven to be the best.

Buen sonido, si están duras para tocar, cumplen muy bien su función y se ven de buena calidad.

The new strings from D’Addario are as promised. Take a while to break in, but keep their pitch. Only downside is if you have acid fingers, then take the coated ones.

The string is very bright and sometimes you would feel it to be quite loud .. I am unable to say , that this would be something which I would use regularly but if you have a second mandolin , this would be a nice change in tonal quality…
