I've only had this for a day, so this is an initial impression from someone that actually purchased it, as I'm skeptical about only seeing paid reviews. I'm coming from a regular drip coffee maker. This machine has produced the best tasting coffee I've had anywhere. I used a Starbucks medium roast beans and it blew Starbucks drinks out of the water. When you dial in your settings for your brew strength you get something you savor rather than mindlessly gulp down. The coffee has a thickness, and a lingering flavor that sticks to your tongue. I'm officially an espresso convert and can no longer drink the burnt gutter water that I was calling coffee. The machine does clean itself a bit, so keep a cup at the ready for the cleaning cycles. Having a water filter in the tank was impressive. Drink volume is a bit less than what I'm use to. Choosing large makes closer to a small/medium amount of beverage. I'm fine drinking less liquid and getting a good caffeine dose. The milk froths wonderfully, but the container doesn't attach perfectly, I've gotten warnings multiple times it wasn't attached, but it was tilted slightly by a couple millimeters. The machine has a lot of sensors and moving parts that I'm concerned about how it will stand the test of time. The footprint of this contraption is a bit deep, but most of it is hidden under the cabinet and just the button selections exposed. It's not overly wide.Is it worth it? You can probably find other automatics cheaper with slightly less functionally. It seems like a decent mid grade option. I'm more than happy so far and look forward to enjoying this.

After reading all the instructions I was overwhelmed to start using but it actually was very easy once I turned the machine on. It guides you through the setup step by step, and the little video I had watched helped me to know I was doing it correctly. Only had for a week, but I sure hope this machine lasts a few years because I love it so far!

What a great improvement over the years. I’ve had three one touch machines from De'Longhi over the past 20 years. The improvements on this machine are, a better grinder hopper, and milk frother, and puck catcher. The milk container is a little smaller than the previous versions, but I can get past that. Yes, this is expensive but well worth it for a one touch machine.

Update after two full weeks of use:- The milk frother has an oddly weak connection to the machine. It's very easy to knock it out of alignment by just slightly moving the spout, which will prompt a message from the machine to reattach it, but it will also kill your current brew full stop. In other words, once the frother is detached, you have to start all over. There seems to be no way to tell the machine to continue from where it left off.- I don't know how long this frother component will last, given its sensitivity and the fact that you are repeatedly detaching the frother after every use to clean it or store it in the fridge.- A surprising amount of coffee debris ends up on the counter beneath the machine. Be sure to place it on a mat, or you'll end up with a stained countertop.- The machine is pretty good about prompting you for things, but what it doesn't do is warn you that it will run a cleaning cycle, both at startup and at shutdown, and if you don't have a container in place it will just dump dirty water into the drip tray.I found it necessary to remove a star for these failings, although the machine does make a wonderful coffee.----------------------------------Alright, I'm not a coffee snob. I just like an occasional latte. I've been using a low end espresso machine, and it's been just fine and gets the job done. However, stepping up to this De'Longhi Magnifica Evo Next has been a real eye opener.Initial setup is intimidating, but that's mainly because the instructions are so detailed and comprehensive compared to barely existent instructions with the low end machine. But, the user interface is very intuitive and friendly, stepping you through the setup process with exceptional detail.Once set up, the process really does come down to pressing a button and letting the machine do its thing. From grinding the beans, to brewing, to spitting out frothed milk - it's all automated. I don't plan on being a barista, so that's fine with me.Is it overkill for my couple of cups a week usage? Surely yes, but it's perfect for a coffee lover who loves the drink more than the process.
