  • Made in the USA, the Dew-Not Dew Remover is a thick film dew heater manufactured for operation at 12 volts. It helps keep dew condensation from forming on the glass surface of your optical device.
  • SELECTING A DEW HEATER: To select the right dew heater for your scope, measure the circumference of your specific eyepiece/finder/telescope tube or dewshield. Or measure the tube/dewshield diameter - not telescope aperture - and multiply by 3.14. Pick one of the models based on the length specified. For in-between sizes, choose the next larger size of dew heater. Please measure and select the correct size BEFORE ordering, and please do NOT order blindly based on your telescope aperture as tubes
  • POWERING A DEW HEATER: Note that all Dew Not Dew Heaters come with a male RCA (phono plug) power jack. To power these, you need a separate 12V power supply source with a female RCA/phono plug connector. You cannot run these directly from 110/220V AC, USB, or cigarette-lighter sockets and no other power cords are included. Several companies (like Dew-Not, Thousand Oaks, Kendrick, etc.) sell dew controller units that can power and control these heater strips, or you can also look for other 12V bat

Proudly made in the USA by AFAB, Dew-Not Dew Removers are available in over a dozen lengths to fit almost any eyepiece, finderscope, or telescope up to 16" aperture to help keep dew at bay. Protected by over 30 USA and international patents and carrying more than 20 years of constant improvements and enhancements, the Dew-Not Dew Remover is the ultimate in reliability and efficiency. Its design ensures even heat distribution and no localized hot spots or burnouts often associated with resistance wire heaters. With Dew-Not, you get an excellent product and save power and money. Before ordering, please make sure that you carefully measure the circumference of your optical device and choose the correct length of Dew Not. Please also ensure that you have a 12V power source with an RCA/phono female plug to operate these. When running, these will feel barely warm to touch (they do not get hot).

These 12v dew heaters are great and come in many sizes. Sadly, they use an RCA plug (one of 2 standards in the telescope industry). I need a 12v 5.5 mm x 2.1 mm barrel connector. The two wires inside the power cable are small, but I managed to cut the end off and solder on a barrel connector. Because this is a heater element, the orientation of the wires does not matter. As a bonus, I was able to cut the wire to a shorter custom length so that makes my telescope rig look less like spaghetti wiring and also, less excess wire to have things snag as the mount moves.

I use this lens warmer on those cold late night Milky Way picture taking sessions. Never had a lens fog up while using this warmer. At 12 volts this warmer pulls about 350mA so run time with my custom battery (16 AA Ni-MH 2.4KmA/Hour and a 12 volt regulator) box is about 6 hours. Current draw was less than expected. Warming capacity more than expected.

The band works great, but the RCA plug is cheap and after only a few uses the outer metal on the plug started to bend. It got to the point where when I plugged mine in, the outer "Negative" of the plug was so loose and flexible that it was touching the "positive" metal rod thing and I did not notice it because it was dark plugged it in and I Blew 2 fuses on my Dew Controller. Luckily I had extra fuses.Other then that the heating band works great so far. I would of gave it 5 stars if they didn't skimp out on the quality of the Male RCA plug. I now had to cut the plug off and wire a new plug in. One that does not have those metal tabs that connect female jack.

A great and useful telescope accessory. They do an absolutely perfect job of keeping the optics a few degrees above the dew point. Therefore, even on the most humid of summer nights, they keep everything dew free and dry. Highly recommend these.
