About this item

  • Think different, think simple:You are able to set every outlet(attached to heater/fan) to turn on at a certain temp, and turn off at another temp
  • 2 controllers in one unit:Two outlets are individually separate, each supports heating & cooling. With two waterproof sensors, you can set different temps to control different areas, such as with 2 heat lamps/mats for dual zones or even for 2 tanks
  • Safe and reliable:High and low temperature alarm, and temperature difference alarm, keep your target secure
  • Convert freezer to refrigerator:With Power-On delay, it can protect compressor from frequent ON-OFF
  • Widely used:It is used as temperature switches / thermostatically controlled outlet for heat mat / heat lamp / heating pad of reptile terrarium / tank, aquarium heater / chiller, greenhouse and grow tent heater, garage / attic exhaust fan, breeding, seedling and fermentation

1. How Pymeter control temperature?

Temperature controller is actual Heating/Cooling controller, thus MUST SET ON-Temp to turn ON Heating/Cooling, and MUST SET OFF-Temp to turn OFF Heating/Cooling.

Heating starts at LOW Temp [ON-Temp(1oN, 2oN)], stops at HIGH Temp [OFF-Temp(1oF, 2oF)], thus for heating MUST SET 1oN(2oN) LESS than 1oF(2oF);

In heating mode, 1oN(2oN) is the minimum temp you allow, 1oF(2oF) is the maximum temp you allow.

Cooling starts at HIGH Temp [ON-Temp(1oN, 2oN)], stops at LOW Temp [OFF-Temp(1oF, 2oF)], thus for cooling MUST SET 1oN(2oN) GREATER than 1oF(2oF).

In cooling mode, 1oN(2oN) is the maximum temp you allow, 1oF(2oF) is the minimum temp you allow.

2. Reading temp is inaccurate?

Every Pymeter controller is calibrated before come out of factory, it is reading temp accurately!

Please don't compare it to common inaccurate thermostat、thermometer or temp gun. If you doubt Pymeter controller accuracy, please calibrate with ice-water mixture (it is 32F when ice is melting), and you will see which device is accurate then.

3. Beeper keeps sounding?

Probably it is the Alarm settings ( AL、AH、d7 ) you set are NOT the right temperature you want. AL is low temperature alarm(it sounds when current temp is AL or Lower), AH is high temperature alarm(it sounds when current temp is AH or Higher), d7 is difference alarm(it sounds when the temp deviation between sensor 1 and sensor 2 is over d7). If you don't need alarm function, please don't change the values of AL、AH、d7, the default values usually won't trigger alarm. You can factory reset by switching temp unit from F to C in setting.

Product works great! As a note, the model I received is the PY-20TH model as opposed to the TT model. Important difference. TH means outlet 1 is Temperature and outlet 2 is Humidity. Also has simple one page manual if you google the model name. Menu takes a bit to get through but as long as you have the charter from the manual it's pretty simple.

This controller works EXACTLY how it's supposed to. Many other reviews have outlined in detail how this unit operates (including the listing itself), so I will not reiterate that here, but if you find the concept of temperature ranges, and difference between the need to COOL vs. the need to HEAT too complex to grasp even after reviewing the instructions provided, I suggest moving to an easier hobby.I've only had the unit for a few months, but I have had no issues with it during that time. I find it to be very reliable and works exactly as I expected it to. I have no need for precise temperature control, so I have not tested it for accuracy, but the unit supports calibration if that is something you need. The unit will indicate which outlet is being powered at the moment (a light will come on next to the outlet to show which outlet is on) and it will also indicate to you whether that outlet is set to heating, or cooling (based on the temperature ranges you have programmed). However, you will need to reference the manual in order to familiarize yourself with the display, as the display itself is not exactly intuitive, apart from the obvious temperature reading.I still give it five stars because it does exactly what it says, it has not failed, and it's a decent price. It has a lot of extra features that I have not needed to use yet but are good to have at your disposal (such as the calibration, being able to set delays for the outlets, set alarms, etc).

I bought this thermostat for my corn snake enclosure and have been using it for just under two years now. I had no problems until recently when the display or probe stopped working but I contacted their LiveChat Support and got in contact with a worker immediately and they are willing to replace it! As a first time reptile owner, it's a very easy product to use and took a lot of the worry away when it came to the temperature of my snakes tank. I plan on more reptiles in the future and definitely plan on buying again!

I always read the instructions and I consider myself good at figuring out how things work. Despite that, I set this up wrong in the beginning. Even when I knew it wasn't working right, I couldn't figure out why. I actually thought it was either defective or that it just didn't do what I wanted.I couldn't figure out how to contact the seller without resorting to "questions" but I didn't really know what/how to ask. I tried to contact the seller and after a few minutes of back and forth with an Amazon chat bot, I realized i was getting no where and ordered a replacement to test my theory of it being defective. It arrived working exactly the way the other one had so I spent some time alone with the Pymeter and 2 cups of water (1 hot and 1 cold). It took around 15 minutes to get a good feel for it.Intuitively, I expected the on / off settings of each socket control a window of time when the socket is switched on. This is NOT how it works. The actual way it works is more clever and allows more control than a basic home thermostat where you just set a single desired temperature. For controlling a heater:The socket will remain powered on until temperature in the OFF setting is attained at which point it will remain off (presumably cooling down) until the temperature in the ON setting is hit. You'll want the ON temp to be lower than the OFF temp. For controlling a cooler / fan:The socket will remain powered off until the ON temperature is reached at which point it will power on. It will stay on (hopefully cooling down) until the OFF temperature is reached. You'll want the ON temp to be greater than the OFF temp.In retrospect, it makes sense they called the settings on/off instead of hi/loI'm using this in a betta tank. I bought this model because we don't have AC in our home. It can get too hot during the day and then it cools down too low at night. Here are the actual numbers I'm using:I have a heater hooked up to socket 1 and a fan hooked up to socket 2.The ideal betta temperature is 79°F, so I've set:Heater ON @ 78°F, OFF @ 80°FFan ON @ 81°F, OFF@79°FWith these settings, on a hot day, the fan should switch off (at 79°) before the heater is triggered to come back on at 78°. This will prevent the heating / cooling from fighting eachother. On a cold day, the heater will shut off at 80° so I never expect it to trigger the fan.Other notes around usability and the product in general:Pluses:*) The alarm feature is nifty. I set the alarm to reasonable values and this alerted me to the fact that it wasn't working as I expected. Unfortunately, this happened in the dead of night. My wife asked if she should start expecting this as a common occurrence 🤦. The alarm makes the same beeping noise, it makes when you change the settings.*) The packaging is compact / effective / recyclable*) Its neat that there is a temperature differential alarm. They mention that if a sensor goes bad you can use this to figure it out before it causes damage some other way. In practice, I wonder if this will actually happen.Mehs:*) The unit / cables are all white which is pretty conspicuous inside my fish tank which has a black background (see photo). I wish it was all black or at least to have the option to swap with black cables. I will eventually try to do a better job hiding the cables in the tank.*) The cables are quite thick. I don't understand why they need to be that thick, unless maybe insulating them from extreme temperatures? Anyways, it makes them more annoying to place in the tank.*) as other reviewers have mentioned the interface switches pretty quickly so you need to get used to it before you can really feel comfortable make changes.*) the calibration of the sensors was off by a few degrees when they arrived. It's neat that you can calibrate them but it was also somewhat annoying. I think the best thing to do here, is put them in alongside another thermometer you trust and then tweak the offsets until they match.

I've been using this in my pump house to control a heat lamp to prevent pipes from freezing. Turns on at a low temp value and turns off once it hits the high set point. Has worked really well to maintain temperature. Recently I encountered an issue after 4 years of use and their customer service department is great. Would definitely recommend this product.

The second probe/thermostat stopped working about a month and a half after using it. Probe one was fine, but probe two’s thermostat would not shut the heat lamp off, which caused the heat to continue to rise. It got to 113 degrees when it was supposed to turn off at 90. Thank goodness I’m paranoid about these things and check the temps at least once a day with a temp gun, would have eventually fried my snake and/or burned down my house. Now I’m stuck with it. Do not buy.

Used for our ball python enclosureMy original purchase lasted about 9-10 months before going haywire and dying. Contacted the parent company and explained the situation and surprising had a new replacement within 2 weeks. That controller died a few days ago. Contacted again, and another is on the way!! These guys are great. The controller is simple to use and set up. It’s relatively inexpensive. Hands down would keep using this.

L'appareil devrait avoir aussi un contrôle pour maintenir le climatiseur toujours en fonction et seulement le compresseur de refroidissement doit-être contrôlé.

Love it so much, I bought a second one, and may end up with more!I've been fighting the same fight with aquarium heaters in multiple aquariums for months. You know the fight, a heater that can't maintain a very precise temperature, exacerbated by temperature fluctuations in the air. Two of my heaters just seem to always drift too high no matter where I set the temperature at. I was getting really tired constantly tweaking the heaters, shuffling heaters from various tanks depending on specific tank requirements, and having to monitor like a hawk when treating quarantine tanks or other situations where you need to hit a high temperature without going too high and killing fish. Then I got one of these Pymeters, and everything was easy again. They seem quite accurate, verified with every other thermometer I own. The setup takes a couple minutes to understand, but it's mostly intuitive. The alarm is almost perfect (the only downside of the entire unit is that you can't set alarms for a specific high and low for each tank if you run it on 2 tanks, but you can have the same high and low temp alarms for both tanks) and the cost/value of these is really good considering you can use one for two tanks for controlling heat, or one tank if you wanted to run a heater and a chiller at the same time.

Edit:Seller was quick to respond and very helpful, and is sending a replacement.I bought five of these, all less than a year ago. One of them has already stopped working. The screen flickered for a while, but now it's just off.

Thank to all members of the community that tried to answer my questions. There was a complete lack of information on the site. This item CLEARLY states it's good for 10 amps at 100 to 250 VAC. That's 1100 to 1200 max watts at the voltage for the electrical plug given. Pretty easy math. I do not expect customers to understand everything as they're not engineers. This vendor should know what they're selling. Bad vendor they wasted my and Amazon's time!
