I installed this on my Traeger Elite 34 (now something like seven years old) after it failed to properly read the temperature probe. Of course, this happened two days before friends were coming to visit with their massive Wagyu brisket to smoke at our house for the fourth of July!Installation was simple, and the wiring matched existing wiring perfectly. Fitting it into the opening was a little bit tricky, but in the end all it took was some careful orientation tweaks and fiddling. The controller works great, though the LED display is a touch too high, so you need to bend a little to read the temperature. Not a big deal. This controller has the P (pause) setting, which was a great new feature to me. With it, I was able to lock in the smoke temperature much better than my old controller. In addition, the temperature variance seems tighter than my old controller.Overall, I'm _very_ happy with this controller, and the cost in particular. I plan to come back here in a year to update with the one-year status. 5/5 stars for me at this point.Update 2024-09-25 — it turns out my friend also installed this item on his Traeger several months ago, and reports greatly increased accuracy in his grill temperatures.

Parts from the Traeger store are expensive. This part got our BBQ up and running holding temp right away. It is a quality part that was easy to install and saved us some serious cash.

got this as a hail mary for a free trager that was broken and the guy was throwing out. I bought this and replaced it. It has worked flawlessly for almost a year of use. Only thing I would add is if you are replacing this go ahead and get the auger motor and ignitor kit as well since you are right there anyway and start from new.

Used this controller to replace an old (2003) three speed antique traeger controller. Had to drill holes for the temp probe and resize the controller hole, about 45 min. of work. Fired up and ran for about an hour and maintained pretty good temp. compared to an oven thermo. and a probe in the lid about 10 / 20 degrees off. Tested on a rack of rib and was very pleased with the results. Happy to be back to grillin. Oh! by the way much cheaper than the new grill the wife wanted.

This part was perfect. Arrived on time. Went in very easy. My Traeger has been running perfectly for the last few months with no problems. I would totally recommend this part to anyone else having a problem. I am so happy I did not have to buy a new grill.

Costco version Pro34 from around 2015/16Fixed issue of no fan, and dumped all pellets and jammed auger on shutdown setting.Replacement was easy. Maybe 10-12 screws. All plugs were shaped the same and wire colors were same as well. Auger was a bit slow on start up but resolved on its own. Temp did go to 465 degrees. The original unit struggled to reach 450.Total rebuild time 20-25 minutes. All screws were phillips. Also need something to cut a few zip ties to do the job.If you remove auger there is a set screw that is a very small allen head.

Looks nice, didn't fit in the hole but the grill is a older 3 choice of temperature model. The temperature is off by around 100° cooler so I adjust accordingly, may be just the one I got. Love the cool down mode. Much better than what I had. If temperature was accurate on the one I bought, it would have been 5 stars for sure.

Easy to change out and a very low price compared to buying a new $900 Traegger
