Set Up
- Set RV (Run Temperature Value)＜SV (Stop Temperature Value), the temperature controller will be in heating mode.

I have two exhaust fans (in parallel) installed in the attic to remove the hot air. The bimetallic thermostat that came with the fans from the factory left a lot to be desired. Many times the fans did not turn off at a reasonable temperature. The on/off temperature window was so large the fans would sometimes run all night even though the attic temperature was relatively cool. I can't imagine how much electricity that old-fashioned thermostat has wasted!The DIGITEN product was easy to install and set up. The instructions aren't the greatest but I was able to determine how to change C to F, establish the on/off set points in about 10 minutes total. I've been keeping an eye on the attic temperature and the product works well. Turns on at 85 F and turns off at night when the temperature reaches 80 F. The temperature can be set decimal increments but whole numbers work fine for my application.

A little tedious to setup but worth it. I’m using this to control the heat lamps in a kitten incubator and it works great. Before this we would need to check the temp about every half hour and adjust manually. We now have heat lamps plugged into this unit and have it set to go on at 93and off at 93.6 and it works perfectly.

Another good product but with very poorly written operating instructions. They never tell you how the unit switches from heat to cool. You're left to figure it out by yourself. SMH

I use this controller to control the temperature of 2 high wattage heat blankets that I use for steam bending guitar sides. It has worked perfectly now for a couple of years at doing the job of supplying enough heat to get the job done, without scorching the wood. I was paying over $200 for a controller from a luthier supplier to do this task. That controller only controlled 1 heat blanket, and lasted about 1 year. This controller is a far superior product. 2 blankets at once, so far twice the life and still going, less than 1/4 the cost - I can't recommend it highly enough.

This is the second one of these I've purchased. It had been on constantly for about 3 years and then stopped working. This has really been an asset for us, keeping the greenhouse within a range that kept our plants from overheating. I do recommend this, even if I would have liked it to last a little longer...

I use the controller to control a chest freezer for homebrewing. I picked the DTC151 because it was rated for 15A output and my previous 10A controller had failed possibly due to the chest freezer's excessive startup current. I recently noticed that the sensed temperature (the temperature measured by the temperature probe) acts strangely. When the sensed temperature reaches the ON setpoint (i.e. controller turns the chest freezer on) the sensed temperature instantaneously increases by 0.6F to 0.9F. When the sensed temperature reaches the OFF setpoint (i.e. controller turns the chest freezer off) the sensed temperature instantaneously decreases by 0.6F to 0.9F. I can only assume that there is an electrical interference problem inside the controller such that power flow through the controller effects the sensed temperature circuit.The impact of this problem is that the actual average temperature of the chest freezer is lower than I planned, because the chest freezer runs longer than necessary (due to the artificially high sensed temperature during freezer operation). Now that I know that this is happening I can compensate (by increasing the OFF temp setpoint); however, the controller should not be doing this.If you buy this controller (there are not many 15A controllers to choose from) just check to make sure your controller is not doing the same thing.12/20/20 update. Now the display goes dark unless you push a button to start a function.When the original problem happened I sent an email to the email address on the manufacturers's web site and did not get a response. The only customer support on the web site is via an email address. Returned product for a refund to Amazon.

Bought it 2 yrs ago. Works flawlessly, easy to program. Hook it to a space heater in garage just to keep it from freezing in winter and circulate air when hot in summer. Never had a problem. I've burnt out several others in the past. Is accurate to 1/10th of a degree, wide range of temperature control.

This made my homemade smoker perfect. It is easy to use and takes all the work out of monitoring any device that you're checking yourself for temperature. My homemade refrigerator smoker it's now always within 5 to 6 degrees F of my target temperature. I could make it more accurate but want to allow this differential. Only problem I had was probably because my plug had a bad connection and heated up partly corroded the receptacle portion. Probably my fault. Should have bought one of these 20 years ago save myself a lot of steps back and forth checking. Great value for the dollar. Would not waste time on any of the lower amperage models better heavy duty 15 amp model .
