Dual use, has outlets on it so you can plug in the heatlamps and accurately reads the temperature of the cage. I have a 40 gallon tank and it fits in great and doesn't take up a lot of space either in or out of it and cable management is easy.Overall it's a great buy and worth every penny.

works wellonly problem is the temp. reading is 20 F lowI readjusted the temp. to get the temp. I wanted!

I have a mechanical back ground but just didn't understand instructions. Seller accepted return willing. I did find a unit that worked easier to understand set up and use.
