The unit came in and installed easily. Unfortunat4ely it did not correct the problem I was having with my 4 wheel drive but that was not due to a problem with the unit. Apparently GMC has a problem with the 4 wheel drive controller that is frequently caused by the switch going bad. There is also a sensor in the drive motor that can also go bad that may need to be replaced. Dealerships charge in the neighborhood of $1600 to fixe the problem. The switch is the easiest to replace and runs around $50. The sensor is a little mor trouble to replace and runs around $50 also. If you are challenged to replace the sensor a complete drive unit with the sensor installed may pe purchased for around $150 that bolts onto the transmission and may only need to have the gasket replaced in addition to the geared sensor unit. If you are on a tight budget this is much less expensive than having the dealer do it. The unit wored as described.

Fought my 'Service 4WD" indicator for a long time, it was real intermittent. Finally purchased this and it took about 5 minutes to install. Been working perfect for months now.

Despite what the vehicle advisor states this is not the correct switch for all versions of this vehicle. If you have the AWD version with stability control you need the Evan-Fischer-EVA5067291721 if you want to buy the part from Amazon.

appears to have fixed my issue with out spending $200+ on a new encoder motor for the 4 wheel drive. and it was half the cost of the local parts store.
