The measurements on the description (which said this was 6cm diameter for the lower pot) made no sense, so I took a chance ordering this, based on the volumes stated, as I planned to temper chocolate with this. When it arrived, it was smaller than I’d pictured it in my mind, much smaller than I needed for tempering chocolate (unless I wanted to do 2-3 candy bars), but would be fine for melting chocolate to pour over sundaes, or for sauces. I got it because I liked the idea of the spout on one end, but the double boiler top part does NOT sit evenly on top of the lower pot—it will sit on one side, and steam will rise up through the other where it does not sit on top.The lower pot measures 6 inches (16cm) diameter and 4 inches (10.16cm) high. The spatula is nice, and I like having a solid silicone spatula, because then food won’t get caught in any grooves in the handle, or between the handle and head, as often happens with spatulas attached to handles. The material they’re made of is good steel, too—it’s just that the top pot doesn’t sit snugly on top that bothers me, because if steam were to get inside the double boiler on the side inside the lower pot, it would make chocolate seize.
