Handcrafted
In 1989, DR Strings re-introduced handmade round core string making to the general market. It requires a lot of skill, time and care, but we feel it’s worth it because we can hear the difference between a handmade string and a machine made string.
Our winders take at least 6 months to learn their craft. It takes that long to develop a feel, an understanding, an instinct to make the constant tiny adjustments that only a hand can make. At each stage we test the wire, we check that it is pristine when it arrives from our suppliers, we inspect each and every wrap during production to ensure its quality, and then again as we hand-package it.

These strings will put other strings to shame. High output, strong presence, and very dynamic strings. Especially on my smaller guitars it boosted the output dramatically. Highly recommended if you are looking for a very dynamic and loud presentation.

I’ve been playing 25+ years and play at my church every week. I use elixer strings and lately been using D’addario coated string. I wanted to try a new coated string and see what else was out there.I don’t think this string is coated. Unless it’s an emperors new cloak situation, I feel no coating. They sound okay, but not for the price point.If they wind up lasting really long or maintaining good tone for longer than the coated strings I use, I’ll update the review but so far these are just your run of the mill acoustic strings.

I put these on a Martin J-40 and they still sound fantastic after three months, and I play that guitar daily. Highly recommend.

While putting the D-string on my acoustic, it broke. It didn't snap while winding (tightening) the string to tune. The outter wire wrap (phosphor bronze) unraveled, like it ws cut. Then it snapped.I haven't seen that on any of the DR Blues i use on my electric guitar.

I generally love DR strings but these were a bit disappointing compared to the D'Addario XSs they replaced.

They are really nice strings. You might not think they sound well at first but I found that if give them a couple days to get broke in they are beautiful.
