There is nothing worse than having to, or choosing to, remove a popcorn ceiling. No one likes all of the dust everyplace, as well as little bits of white junk in your hair, and up your nose. While this is by no means a professional quality tool, it is tons better than trying to spray water on the ceiling, and consequently all over your face, and using a trowel to get the popcorn off. Well worth the purchase for the help it gives.

This unit is plenty fine for doing the bulk of the sanding of larger joints and patches. Not built for final sanding to make things perfectly flat. There are some vibrations to deal with, and the dust is not fully eliminated. So everything considered, I'd give a 4.2 rating on it.

At first the sander worked good but after a hour of sanding it gets clogged and don't vacuum the dust no matter how much and good you clean it. So drywall dust will go everywhere

We needed to remove the popcorn from our bedroom ceiling and this was a life saver! We attempted removing the popcorn from another room without the proper equipment and we ended up working 3 times as hard cleaning all the mess and dust left all over the house. This is worth every penny, it makes the process super quick and painless and specially without any mess to clean up after!

We have a 1920 home that was "updated" in the 60-70's - which means popcorn ceilings. Lots and lots of popcorn ceilings. During my upstairs bathroom reno, I began with a traditional sander, which made an unholy mess. I was thrilled to try this to help with getting rid of the popcorn ceilings.This does help keep the dust down to a minimum, and is surprisingly lighter weight than I anticipated.I really appreciated that the handle can be lengthened or shortened, and after I do the final skim coat of plaster on the walls, I'm really looking forward to the quick work this will make of sanding everything down smooth and even.This works fantastically well and keeps the debris to a minimum.It has variable speeds, and I appreciate that I can adjust the angle of the sanding head depending upon what I'm working on.This is a steal for the current price, and we have a number of projects lined up for it. So far, it's handling them all very well, and seems like it's built to last.

This sander is easy to use, but a little on the large size. It vibrates a bit, but I guess that is to be expected. This does make quick work of some projects and comes with everything you need, including a bag, all for one reasonable price. It's not the best, but it's not the worst, but for what it costs it's a good buy.
