I have been making haywire twists by hand and while I'm pretty good at it I felt like there should be a tool to help me do it more effectively. I was right. My first try with this tool was "ok", my twists weren't tight enough for me. My second try - much better. I then made a rig and by the third loop I had it down pat.The trick to this tool is to apply some pressure as you make the twists to keep the tool tight to the "V" of the wire as it twists. This gives you nice even, strong twists. The barrel wraps are idiot proof. Pay attention to what you're doing and practice a few and you're off to the races.I found now I am wasting less wire as well because the loop is more consistent I don't leave so much of a tag in the end. GREAT TOOL.

Abit difficult to use if you never tried it and I recommend wearing gloves as it might be a struggle to hold the loop. Took me quite a few tries to get those perfect coils and tried out the wire with anything big I can hook on to and works great.Recommend: Gloves and a beginner video of how to use specific item

Too small. Might be good for 20 or 30 lb wire but useless on anything else. It is easier to make good twists by hand

I bought this tool to do twists in my wire leaders and It is super easy to use. It is smaller in size than I expected but that does not seem to make it a challenge to use. I also bought the Kwik Twist tool, but I found this one to be faster and easier to learn though the Kwik Twist tool makes a neater/tighter twist on the line. And this tool does not require any extra tools to use...I have attached pictures to show that you CAN put twists in both ends of your leader, as the tool has a cut in it for the wire to go. Once you make the twist you can slide the tool down make a few tighter wraps and then open the tool and take it right off of the wire.I found the instructions easy and straightforward, though a YouTube video out there may be easier for the visual learner.I use Malin #6 HardWire for the twists in the picture.

I needed a tool to make haywire twists and this had decent reviews. They turn out alright, but not consistently neat.
