I watched a product like this used on a YouTube video and I decided to try it. I used it to make a dozen hard boiled eggs. I've tried several things in the past with no real success. I would say that over all this worked well for me. Out of a dozen all but 2 peeled easily. I think the two that gave me a bit of trouble may have been because I didn't puncture it deep enough to get through the membrane? That's just a guess. Anyway I was able to make some nice looking deviled eggs. It works well and it seems well built. I plan on using it again when I make pickled red beet eggs.

It does the trick but I was surprised how much pressure it takes to push the egg on top of the piercing pin - hole is so tiny you can't even see it but seems to work fine.

This is a great kitchen gadget!So far, I have ordered and sent these to 6 friends/family/acquaintants who I learned had never heard of it. My own is cheap plastic (not from this vender) but does the job. I really should order one of these metal piercers for myself!!!!

Love this thing. I could never get hard boiled eggs to peel easily, but this changed my life.I did learn the hard way that you need to put the egg on the device and press down, do not put the device on top of an egg and press down.Also a little annoying to clean, but easy to get past for being a small inexpensive tool that saves soooo much time.

I have used the egg piercer a couple of times so far. The first time with 3 eggs, one broke the shell when piercing. The next time with 4 eggs, one broke completely and had to be stored for usage later. The other 3 cracked when boiling. I haven't decided if that dozen eggs all had thin, weak shells as they looked different, not broken, but with lines appearing like fractures, or if I had to push too hard to get the eggs pierced. It certainly was not a successful beginning. It is easy to use, but not good if it keeps causing shell breakage. Haven't given up yet.After more usage, we have found that 2/3 of the eggs we pierce crack and break. I am returning it. We have been extra careful, but they break just the same.

this is easily the thing that results in the easiest to peel hard boiled eggs i have ever made, and i was a freaking culinary student! old eggs peel great, fresh eggs peel great, ice bath or no ice bath, didn’t even bother testing baking soda. the eggs peel easy every single time. i will grant, though, that using an icebath made the egg itself more stable when peeling so you don’t need to be as gentle but even a completely fresh out of the pot egg peeled easily and only lost a tiny bit of eggwhite cuz i was rushing a little too much. only caveat is that you should wipe off the needle after use to ensure longterm cleanliness. in all cases, this thing fully deserves 5 stars and i’d personally give it 6 if i could.in short, if you like hard boiled eggs, buy one of these.boiling times used after bringing water to a full rolling boil:10 minutes: full hard boil, yolk fully cooked unless immedistely peeled, no green yet so this is the sweet spot for making egg salad and deviled eggs and the like.8 minutes: not quite fully cooked, maybe 40-50% yolk cooked with goey core.6-7 minutes would likely result in cooked whites but raw yolk if that is what you’re looking for ( i prefer egg salad though so i didn’t test this duration yet)
