Well made. I wouldn’t store the Crown Jewels in it but it’s a nice wall safe for modest amounts of valuables or quick access to a handgun in an emergency. Just make sure you never lose the convoluted Rubik cube instructions for changing the code .

I recently purchased the Elder Welder Hidden Wall Safe, and I'm really happy with it. Calling this a "safe" is a bit of an overstatement, thus the minus two stars - it's a sheetmetal box with a picture frame hung on magnets in front of it that can can be securely mounted into the wall (securely, if one uses better screws than the ones provided, that is). But it doesn't matter - if a thief finds it - and admittedly it is well hidden behind the picture - they can probably pry it open with a screwdriver (so, not a "safe").As a hidden wall box, it's well-designed, so that's what the remaining stars are for.Easy to install, if you have a few tools that'll allow you to work around drywall holes. And I wouldn't put it too close to a door, lest slamming of it might knock the frame off its magnets (I can see that happening). Also, be aware it is about an inch narrower than the usual space between two 16" studs - first I worried it might make it less secure, but after I saw how the drawer is "secured" in the surround, I really didn't care much any more. Feel free to use the tiny screws it comes with. Pre-drill the holes, or you'll shear off the little phillips heads.

Update! Important to know.I was contacted by the company. They gave me a refund AND sent me a new product that arrived yesterday. I was very impressed by their quick actions and care. I have to edit my review. Besides that the product is fantastic. I highly recommend itDid not receive the key needed to set up password and Amazon makes it so difficult to contact manufactures or to help me with this matter.

I put this wall safe in my bedroom with the included frame but my own picture. This safe works great for keeping a firearm, passports and extra cash as an emergency stash that other people know nothing about. Installation was very simple with my multitool and impact driver. Took me maybe 20 minutes total once I located where I wanted to install it. The wall safe comes with everything that you need to install it including a template for marking the opening you will need to cut in the wall. You only have to provide your own tools. I however, used some longer torx style screws just because I already had them and that was the bit that was already in my driver. I'm sure the included screws would have worked just fine. I also added a small strip of foam at the bottom of the box just to have some padding in there. I'm sure that if somebody wanted to get into the safe with a prybar or something, they would be able to but the purpose of this safe is for it to be hidden in plain sight and if it is somehow found, it's not easily accessible by would-be thieves. I'm quite happy with this item and can easily recommend.

This is a nice concept for a hidden safe that's easy to install in most houses with standard stud spacing. It took just a few minutes with a drywall hand saw to cut open a slot and it fastens easily to the studs. It's just a great concept that makes it really easy to install. The safe itself is well made with solid good thickness steel and good welds. It's not going to withstand an angle grinder but it's meant to keep things hidden more than be a solid grinder proof safe so that's perfectly fine. Overall I'm just really happy with this and how easy it was to get a built in safe installed without a lot of major demo or renovations.
