Item Reviewed: Ellie Baby Pro Wireless Monitor with Smartphone App for Phone Access, Cry Auto Soothing Lullaby, Auto Photo Capture, Face Covered Alert, 2-Way Audio, Virtual Fence, 2K UHD CameraI originally wanted a non-Wi-Fi baby monitor because I have concerns about privacy, especially where a baby is concerned. The last two baby monitors I tried were duds, so I was a little nervous about this one. The only reason I went with a Wi-Fi monitor is because of the many awesome features this one has.I will point out here that the baby monitor I received was previously opened when I received it. There's no overwrap, but there are two stickers on the box that had both been sliced open before it arrived. Everything appears to be there, but this made me a little suspicious.I keep my baby nephew sometimes and since he sleeps upstairs, I need a way to keep tabs on him. This does the basic job very well. It comes with so many features that I haven't even fully tested them all yet. Camera quality is far superior to other monitors I compared this to. PTZ is incredible, which lets me put the monitor almost anywhere in my room near an outlet and still see where he is and what he's doing. Night vision is clear, and audio is great with the exception of the intercom. We tested it from another room and there was some echoing.A bonus for Mom and Dad is that they can actually log in as well and check on him if they want to, provided we're in my bedroom. And I can capture still photos and short video so they don't miss anything adorable when he's here. From a parental standpoint, this is pretty awesome.There are some concerns, of courses. The biggest is obviously security and privacy. Since this is app only, you do need to give phone access to the app to be able to use these added features. I am not sure that data is encrypted and where and how it is being used, so I definitely want to do some more research before his next visit.Set up was a nightmare. We tried for over an hour to get this set up using the Ellie app as instructed in the manual. It kept trying to connect, then nothing. So back to resetting it and trying again. I finally realized the app might be an issue and checked the app - it goes to SimHome. So we uninstalled the first app, downloaded SimHome directly instead, and it connected right away. I wish we had known about this because I almost gave up!The only other cons are the price point (currently around $190). But given the features, this may be worth it to a lot of people. And I REALLY wish this included an actual monitor as well in case Wi-Fi goes down. It happens sometimes, and since this app based only, it leaves you with no back up monitoring tool.Overall, it's a pretty great baby monitor and I'm happy with it so far.

One of the standout features of this baby monitor is its crystal-clear resolution camera, which provides incredibly clear and detailed video footage. Day or night, I can see my baby clearly thanks to the built-in night vision.

Seemed like a great baby monitor, but after a few weeks it continuesly disconects from wifi and you have to unplug and plug it back in. 6 months later it doesn't even work any more. So i say not worth it.

I love this thing!! So freakin cool that it can move around the whole room. Huge screen. Good battery life. Fairly clear picture. My old basic one broke… so glad I decided to upgrade to this one

So, I like the range of the camera and how easy it is to adjust. But the app does not work very well. I’ve triple checked my settings and still am not getting notifications for anything.The cry-soothing function works nicely, but I got this monitor to keep an eye on baby’s breathing and movement during sleep and it doesn’t alert to any changes in that.

It’s trash. Took it out the box and it won’t connect or anything even though it keeps saying that it’s connected.
