Unpacked, installed batteries, pendulum, weights,hung on the wall. Worked perfect right out of the box. Coocoo matched time. (You don't count the echo for those who don't know!) Clock is very accurate keeping time as well.

The first Cuckoo Clock purchased was made in China, and did not meet expectations as the pendulum failed to work and the clock was returned. I found that most of the lower priced cuckoo clocks are made in China.After searching for a clock that was not made in China, I found the Engstler Quartz Cuckoo Clock that is superb craftsmanship and made in Germany. This clock is not as big as the other clocks, but it was hand carved in Germany and really looks great on the wall. The clock is mostly made of wood, very well made, runs on 2-C batteries and is accurate. The pendulum on the clock swings back and forth. The clock has a volume control for the cuckoo sound, off, low, and high. The clock has a light senor that turns the cuckoo off when it dark at night. When it is light enough, on every hour the little cuckoo bird comes out of doors that open, flaps it wings and makes it's cuckoo call with an echo. If the number of cuckoos does not sync with the time, such as 4 cuckoos calls for 4 PM, it is not difficult to remedy the problem. The clock comes with an operating booklet with 6 languages, including English.Overall, I am very satisfied with the cuckoo clock, and I recommend it with 5 stars.

Nice clock. Nice coo coo.Only issue is the nut holding the hands cones loose and the hour hand falls to the 6 position.

The cuckoo is so much different than my last one. It has a soft echo and cuckoo for each hour. The weights are plastic on the chains and both are stationary and do not run the clock. It is runed solely by two C batteries. It has a beautiful wooden head piece that I like and the body very nice also.

This clock is a replacement for a cuckoo clock which we had for years. It looks as well as the one I had, it is a little different in the cuckoo -- there is an echo so it took a bit for me to become accustomed to the cuckoo. But it works and that is what is ultimately important.
