Not one for writing reviews, but just received this yesterday and installed today. People weren't kidding when they said the old one is difficult to get out. If you're taking this on, I highly recommend watching a couple different youtube videos first. I'm the type of guy who always ends up doing things the hard way, and the videos (especially the young black man's video (I think he goes by "hindsight") were a huge help with showing me what "I was getting into" and what to do. The included specialty tool really helped (thanks again "hindsight", you deftly illustrated how it works). Some come out harder than others, I guess, and mine was stuck in there pretty good. Have patience getting the old one out, they can be a "bear". Anyway, this replacement went in smoothly (plumber's grease was included, and I was pretty liberal with it just like Hindsight was), and I forgot how smoothly my Moen tub faucet is supposed to work. Only time will tell with longevity, but very pleased so far.

We DIY replaced a cartridge that was beginning to drip when turned off. The cartridge puller was very helpful, as was spraying lubricant ("WD40") into the old valve body for making removal easier. The new cartridge works well and is extremely smooth. The only caveat I would give is that it seems to take a fraction of a second longer to balance temperature when the adjacent toilet is flushed. I've never been scalded, but a brief temperature change is obvious. Price was super as compared with OEM.

The new cartride itself leaked right after I installed it. Glad I caught it, that could have been a 5 figure fix if it leaked behind the walls.

I had a shower that was dripping when the faucet was turned off and figured the valve needed to be replaced. This product was much cheaper than OEM and the puller was a nice add-on. After I installed it, my shower still dripped-although not as badly. I ended up changing the entire valve, which remedied my problem.I can't say for sure if this valve was faulty or not. But it didn't fix the dripping issue I was having.

The cartridge was difficult to remove and the removal tool was a big help. The new cartridge also came with a tube of lubricant and was easy to put back together. Everything was delivered as advertised and worked great.

Conclusion first: personally, definitely can give it a try if you’re renting (and especially if the property owner won’t help you repair these issues). If it’s your own place, it’s hard to say. You can still give this a shot, or go for the OEM version.I got two cartridges for 29.99. And I’d like to say that this is a good price, as well as the spare one lower the risks of failure.I installed one, and it appeared perfectly fine initially. Then I did some maybe stupid thing and it started to leak from between the brass and the plastic I pointed out in the picture with red arrow, but only when it’s turned on. Then I took it out and tried the other one. This time, I didn’t do any stupid thing, but it leaked from the same place the first time I tested. This leaking is about 2-3 drops per second.I do have the OEM version. I bought this because I broke the rubber gasket (the two black rubber things on the side) of the OEM version, leading to dripping while turned off. Eventually, I replaced the OEM rubber gasket using the same thing from this order. Then, I installed this mixed part. Up until now, the leaking is negligible. (I put my hand under my shower to see how often it leaks. I couldn’t feel a drop before my legs got numb..)Back to the picture, leaking from the red arrow probably won’t be too bad because it only happens when it’s turned on; no leaking when it’s off. Most of the time our shower is off.. that’s why I drew the conclusion: worth a shot, but depends on your preference..

Bought this end of June installed it its now September and the item is leaking again. I don’t suggest buying if you only get a few months out of it.
