This item was used to replace an original nut on an old Delta shower valve housing that was frozen on and needed to be cut off. The fit was perfect and it worked great.

This ring retainer was visually well machined. It easily screwed on and securely held the cartridge in place.

I don't know why I have to buy a separate bonnet nut when I replace the shower valve, but the manufacturer doesn't give you one in the kit, so I have to order it separately and hope with fingers crossed that it will fit. This one works as advertised and is compatible with the valve referenced. Works well - we'll see in a few years if it is easy to get off should valve replacement be necessary.

This ring doesn't seem as heavy duty as the original that I removed from my tub, but it is sufficient to do the trick.

After installing a pressure reducing valve on my house, my 2003 Delta Shower Faucet started leaking. I ordered a replacement RP28603 part, but the bonnet nut would not come off, and I didn't want to force it. This seems to be a common problem on YouTube. Therefore, I used a hacksaw with a handle on one side to cut a slot in the top of the old bonnet. It's delicate work since you don't want to cut the base metal treads more than necessary.Once you see the base metal threads, use a flat-blade screwdriver and hammer to "crack" the old brass bonnet nut until you can widen it enough to unscrew it by hand. The hacksaw work took a while since you have to the front face of the bonnet nut as well.Sure beats tearing out the shower wall!

You're probably going to need this when you change the cartridge or washers out on your shower, because this damn nut will be so corroded, you'll have to destroy the old one.Do your future self or someone else a favor and apply anti-seize to the new one when you put it on!

This is an excellent replacement for the previously seized up one that I was working with. I would definitely purchase this again.

Fit perfect , nice clean threads. Fraction of the price of suppliers. Apply pipe dope for future.

This works perfectly! I had to cut my old one off with a dremel tool . Do not use a pipe wrench or channel locks on your shower cartridge nut! You will break your plumbing. The old one cuts off very easily. Mine was a bigger brass nut that I had to cut off but this one fit just fine.
