The adaptive unit on the module can automatically adjust the charging current according to the output capacity of the input power supply, so it is ideal for solar-powered systems, or applications that need to charge a lithium-ion battery or lithium polymer battery with a power input with limited output capacity.
If your solar panel is 5V, you can use it directly. Of course, the module can also be powered by a 5V DC power supply.

I've tried a number of different solar chargers with mixed results and none were very efficient, that is until this little gem. I've tested it in my same build as the others, 4 small solar panels that track the sun via arduino and two servos to charge two 18650 cells that power all the above and a meshtastic transceiver from RAKwireless. At sun up is reporting ~75-80% bat level and in one hour it's charged to 100%. None of the other charges I've tried could even come close to this.

This board uses the CN3163 chip which yes, is lithium battery controller optimised for use with solar panels. It does not, however, do any maximum power point tracking (MPPT) despite that being mentioned in the product title.That being said, it’s pretty much plug and play. If you have a project that requires a battery to be charged from a solar panel and you’re not bothered about maximising power output from the panels, then this will do the trick. If you need MPPT, then it’s probably best to look elsewhere.

Le module est franchement très petit et difficile à travailler . les résistances étant très proches des soudures ... je ne vous fais pas un dessin ^^

Smaller than you think so it's difficult to solder. Never got it to fully function but that might be a limitation of my battery. Better off buying a fully functioning commercial unit.
