Sturdy. I like the fill from top, cap to close off trough that allows for easier water management. Also notice that water doesn’t freeze as quickly as my previous setup.

I saw in the reviews that there were people that loved this and then people that hated it so I knew I had a 50/50 shot at having something that would work for me.The day this got to me in the mail I had high hopes. I filled it up with water and was able to carry it without the top coming off. I also like that it has a little cap that you can screw on to the spot where the water comes out so as you're walking the water won't slosh out on you.BUT... Once you let the water come out to the tray the water doesn't stop coming out and then continues to pour out everywhere. I tried everything, where I left the cap on and only unscrewed it slightly. I took the cap off and stored it where you're supposed to, I made sure that the spout was in the right spot, that everything was connected correctly but the water would NOT stop pouring everywhere. It didn't even make it into the coop before all the water was gone out of the reservoir. I walked it right back inside, dried it off and shipped it back. It took quite a while to get refunded and I didn't know this until I was in the process of returning it but it says that once they get it back they will decide if you get a full, partial or no refund. So it was a gamble either way. I did get a full refund, thank goodness, otherwise I'd be a very very unhappy customer.

Only problem is the chickens want to roost on the handle and poop in the water. Works great just waiting to see how long the rubber ring lasts because that seal is what makes it work.

Had to switch from our galvanized one due to vitamins and meds we’ve had to add to water that was rusting the metal one. Took us a few times to figure out the right seal at the top and making sure it’s level to keep it from overflowing. Now that we have the hang of it, it’s really great.

This is a very well made poultry waterer. I bought this one and the larger one and love them. Easy to clean and fill. Would buy again.

I like those better than the 5 gal one because they are lighter but a bit pricey

I bought one for inside the coop and one for the run. I refill them about once every 5 days to keep The water fresh. I really like them and would buy these again. Previous reviews mentioned the lids being hard to get off which yes they are and we learned the hard way. The trick is to put a little Vaseline around the rubber and you don't have to over tighten the top to get it airtight. Once we figured that out we were good to go. I would purchase this product again.

We've had at least 3 different waterers, a glavanized one, a thinner plastic one and then this one. The metal one broke (the welded stopper lever), and the thin plastic one shattered in the cold. It been -30C here lately and this is the only thing that stands up to the cold. I have a glavanized heater pan that this waterer sits on in an unheasted coop and it works great. Yes you have to keep the rubber gasket oiled and don't overtighten. In winter you have to wash the ice off the inside of the lid or it might not make an airtight seal and water will leak out. Do NOT throw away the white cap!!! It must be put on the lower hole at the tray when you fill it up or the water will just run out. After filling and screwing the top lid on, remove white cap and then SCREW ONTO THE HOLDER at the top of the bucket for storage. It is easy to use, but a bit heavy for my 12 year old to carry and lift. As far aas cleaning, lut a little water in the bottom, and sparay a 50/50 bleach/ water solution to clean any algae or dirt and then rinse well with water and air dry. Very durable product and I will buy another to keep in the house and rotate the waterers, so I don't have to fill outside in the cold. (My problem not yours!)

Our chickens love these things. So do the dogs! lolMake sure you put Vaseline on the lid, so you can get the lid off. If you don’t, the lid is a b**** to get off. Lubed up, works like a charm.
