I have been drinking Bottled water for about 10 years. In the past I filled 5 gallon plastic (non-BPA) jugs at the local health food store, but have grown weary of cleaning up the mess when they eventually break (which they always do after a couple years). Also, at 65, I am finding it harder and harder to lift the 5 gallon jugs into place on my water dispenser. For those reasons, I decided to purchase these.Pro:My wife and I both find them to be beautiful. I love that they are made of glass and it will require a drop onto a hard surface to break them. And, Glass will not be leaching any chemicals into my water, so they are "all chemical safe", not just "BPA free". And, finally, (because they are 3 gallon, not 5 gallon containers) they are lighter and much easier lift than the larger ones I have been using until now.Con:There is one disadvantage to using these that you need to be aware of and consider before buying if you intend to use them like I am. There is no handle on them, so they are a little clumsy to handle. You might find that the tedium of managing them without a handle outweighs their lighter weight and durability. Also, these do not come with a screw top. you will need to purchase caps for them separately (I was not bothered by this, but you might be)...

Excellent quality! I call this my little glass baby. I stopped purchasing bottled water and use this to fill it with reverse osmosis water. I don't like fluoride in my water for personal reasons and have heard way too many stories of bottled water not really being regulated and is basically tap water in a plastic bottle. It costs 75 cents to fill 3 gallons of water and doesn't have leaching BPA and whatever else is in bottled water. PLUS! I feel better knowing that I'm not contributing to polluting the environment. This glass bottle is perfect! You will need to buy a lid though. And don't drop it either because it will most likely break ( 2nd one I've owned ). And it's kind of heavy without a handle but perfect for me. I love it!

It arrived unbroken and looks solid. I'd rather have two 3 gallons than a 6 gallon and these are perfect. They will fit in most refrigerators for cold crashing.

Even though it’s somewhat heavier then plastic, I think it’s safer for water storage

Ordered 2 of these. They were packed wonderful and super fast shipping. They are sturdy and great. Only suggestion would be to include caps. Overall wonderful. Great value

I used this to make hard cider. 3 gallons is the perfect size, and these worked great for the fermentation, and not near as heavy as the 5 gallon ones. The packing was excellent in double boxes with bubble wrap.Nicely done!

Opening to the bottle was smaller than I wanted but it will work for my needs.

Arrived quickly and not damaged. It is sturdy and heavy when full. If you are planning to dispense water out of it, make sure you have a tilt stand or pump!
