Reptiles are ectothermic and depend on their environmental temperature to regulate their core body temperature. If a reptile is not provided an appropriate environmental temperature range (ETR), it may be predisposed to chronic infections. Because ETRs vary from species to species, ask your pet professional or review available literature for guidance in determining the appropriate ETR for your pet.

I actually use these for chicks/ducks and not reptiles. They do put out heat and are inexpensive compared to brooding bulbs. They don't last more than a couple months though, par for the course vs incadescents.

We used this bulb for our corn snake and it lasted 14 months with 10-12 hours of use per day. I think that's not bad. It's probably smart to buy 2 at a time though in case you have one burn out.

Needed a new basking light for out side-neck turtle and could not get to town. Delivery was fast, priced right. heats great for our turtle. This light has been going for a few months now without issue, functions great. So far the lifespan has been awesome, out last one lasted a year. Bought the twin pack so we have a backup.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this fluker basking bulb. My leopard gecko is very happy now after having to deal with a short period of darkness. Highly recommended.

I bought this light for my leopard gecko. It was true to its advertising, and a great basking bulb for the money. Originally, I'd thought that it was a great purchase. Then, only four days after I bought the bulb, I was sitting by my gecko's terrarium, and I heard a small "pop(!)" And sure enough, the light went out. Brocken. I had read other reviews from costumers that had similar experiences, but I figured that maybe other costumers' had some sort of defects,...turns out that so did mine. Didn't last more then 96 hours.I would suggest not buying this bulb. Not sure if all Flucker's bulbs are like this, or if it was just something to do with Amazon. At the end of the day, it was a great bulb, until it wasn't. I'll leave it to you all to decide if you want to buy it for yourselves, but I personally wouldn't recommend, and thought I should just let ppl know that I think you should think twice before you buy it.(Thank you.)
