This thing is loud as could be, and gets the attention of anyone in range. It is super loud and piercing with it's sound, and that is not even needing to blow hard into it. If you want a great whistle that will get people's attention, this is what you want

This whistle hurts my own ears when I use it. It is light weight and seems durable. I needed it to be loud, but it definitely hits a pitch that makes my own ears uncomfortable.

Rubber grip is less than desirable in when holding in teeth. However it is very loud with with a different tone than Fox 40 Classic.

I bought this for marine safety. It's *very* loud. Loud enough to hurt your own ears (leave them ringing) by blowing it. I wouldn't use this casually or for sports games, but for emergency signaling it can never be too loud.

Excellent whistle. I like the orange color, size, and it's extremely loud and high pitched. This is weird to say but everybody should have a really good whistle, especially the ball-less ones so they can be used in any condition. I have given a few to different female friends of mine for their personal safety when walking alone or at night. I would also recommend this for any outdoorsy/adventurous/boating people since once you take out any technology in a survival or rescue situation you are left with very primitive options and this one for the price and size is well worth tossing in your bag, pocket, or around your neck. If you're lost in the middle of the woods, I can guarantee this whistle will be heard for a couple miles, especially if it can echo within hills or mountains. If you're on a boat and can see a shore line but your engine wont start and have no other options to signal someone on shore or another boater that you need help this will also for sure get their attention. Then for a safety stand point if you're in any urban setting and blow this hard it will grab everybody's attention and if it was a potential attacker they'd maybe even just turn and run the other way just because of how loud this whistle really is. In general unless you're going to give this to a child and regret your life until they eventually lose it, everybody should have something like this for a variety of purposes that hopefully you'll never need to use it for but for the price and quality this is a must buy.
