I am relatively new to art but am learning new techniques. I started working with charcoal and really liked it but wanted to add white to it. So I ordered the compressed Charcoal Sticks in white. They work quite well for me I am very happy with the way they work and blend. This is charcoal it is not chalk so it is not for chalk boards. just an FYI.These are used best on sketching or mixed media paper. no need to use heavy card stock or watercolor paper either. Any good quality sketching paper is fine.I love this product and it is an excellent product and value especially as an add on.I will be buying this again

When I learn to draw and shade with charcoal we didn't have these little lovelies, hmmm, should have tried regular white chalk. Anyway, I remember looking like a mechanic when I used charcoal, lol, my mom said you look like a grease monkey, meaning a mechanic. These pieces of white aren't easy FOR ME to use as I wasn't taught with them, Still getting too much of the black mixed in. All that said, these seem to be very good pieces & worth the cost. Happy Arts

I have used these to add dimension to my sketches and have found that they work well for that purpose. They last longer than I thought they would, especially with my level of usage. Easy to mix with other charcoal using my fingers. I will purchase them again when I need more.

Ive had this product for a while now and feel confident to reveiw it, so; Lets get right into the pros:-If you want something to show up on a dark paper surface, this CAN work, with some effort-White highlights-Fast delivery Now the cons:-Needs lots of pressure and layering to show up well (I believe this is due to the fact that its mostly wax, barely any pigment)-That pressure can mis-shape the paper, making it less appealing***This could be either pro or con: The charcoal makes a glossy surface where you apply it.Overall, I was disappointed in the product. Of corse, it has its uses, but I felt I could get the job done faster with something like a white jelly roll pen or a white highlight pen. I would insert some pictures, however, my picture-scanny-thing is broken so I have no way of getting a clear image onto my computer. I hope you understand, and this reveiw will suit your needs ^^

Not useful for drawing at all. Did not make any marks. Was hard as a stone.

What can I say about charcoal sticks? They are white, a bit on the soft side, but easy to use, layer well onto the paper, and are relatively tidy for charcoal. Nice for highlighting larger areas and for blending gray tones. Does what I need.

Das weiß deckt sehr gut auf getönten Papier und verleiht schönen Kontrast und lässt sich gut verblenden. In Kombination mit Kreidepastellen sher zu empfehlen.
