Product Description

GlowShift Diesel Tachometer Adapters can be used on virtually any diesel car or truck to adapt the signal of stock and aftermarket diesel tachometers and shift lights. Featuring a compact design, this diesel tach adapter is mounted to your vehicle’s alternator and secured using the included adjustable steel strap. The tach adapter is also easy to program to coordinate the tachometer signal with your car or truck’s engine RPM.

Diesel Tachometer Signal Adapter

The adjustable stainless steel strap is 1/2” wide with a maximum diameter of 10” and a minimum diameter of 5”. To use, simply wrap the clamp around the vehicle's alternator and slide through the molded retainer on the diesel tachometer adapter and tighten. Just got this... needed it for a small 4 cylinder Kubota diesel engine in a piece of farm equipment (hazelnut sweeper). 2 things right off that have irritated me right off... the included hose clamp - too large - won't work on mine... but more irritating... the "claim" 9.5' of wire attached"... not true at all.. 5' is all that is here... and I need 9'. So it's gonna take me a day longer to get it hooked up... as need to go to town and get parts that I "thought" would be included.

In description it says 9.5’ of wire, mine only has 58” and will have to extend wires.

Instructions are not too useful since more clarity as to how to use and set up would perhaps help overcome difficulties. My sensor did not work from the get go due to its not being able to pick up consistent signal from an alternator. I tried it out on 3 different alternators, one being on a diesel tractor and the other two being automotive. Anyhow I used up a lot of time wasted on an ultimately unsuccessful project. I suspect that there is no final inspection at the factory on their signal output and some will be sensitive enough to use on an alternator and others not. Avoid this sensor since results are likely very inconsistent.
