I used this kit to fix my older GM vehicle from having the VATS unit prevent me from starting the vehicle at random times. When the resistor in the key is worn, this kit contains the right assortment of resistors to have the correct impedance to be wired in line with the started kill to bypass the key chip, allowing the car to start correctly every time the key is turned. I did some research on YouTube and the video I watched suggested this kit. Installation was straightforward. Find the correct impedance from the key mounted chip using a multimeter, then locate the starter kill wire in the steering column. Cut the wire on both sides and wire the resistor from this pack in line between them. Use electrical tape to wrap the new resistor and splices and you won’t be left stranded in parking lots any more! Great product!

Product is advertised and sold as a 170 piece resistor kit with 10 of each 17 value resistors. Seller seems to have taken these 170 piece products and is randomly shipping and selecting 1 of the 17 packs to ship out instead of all 17. That in itself wouldn't be an issue if labeled that way but there is no way to get the specific value requested and is not intended to be sold in such way and can be purchased directly for amazon correctly for less. Not sure why this is represented first.

I wish I could have gotten these to work. I cannot speak for the value for the money as I couldn't get these to work. The size appeared to be proper, but they were not easy to use for me. So I don't see the value for the money for me in this item.

The vats system has 15 possible resistance values. This pack is of 10 identical resistors. Other sellers with the same item description sell the different resistors. This is just all wrong.
