Connects all your old data to USB

Works perfectly, hooked up and within a few minutes Windows had recognized the device and the drives installed in it. Speed is solid if you keep in mind it is USB 3.0, don't expect NVME levels of performance, but as far as helping hardware test drives, pulling data off old drives and generally using them to image one drive to another - it's well worth the small price.

This works well when you want to use it as a docking bay for hard drives. But once you try and clone or move files from the docked bay to any other drive you will corrupt both drives. I used this for a few weeks for my Plex server to store my movies on a spare drive I had. when I needed to swap out the spare drive with a larger one I tried the clone feature and it took forever, then when it was done I went back to file explorer and both drives were corrupted. I tried it with another drive and same thing both came back corrupt. I would never buy this brand again unless I planned to use them as just a dock. Even then I would be hesitant since when I tried to copy larger files boy was it terribly slow im talking 25mbps slow when its rated for 5gbps. I have never seen any thing go that slow even on HDD's its insane. wouldn't recommend this to anyone wanting to clone drives or move larger files maybe use for file/photo storage but even then the risk of all your stuff getting corrupted is not worth it.

Was an easy plug and play for a SAS drive, I just don't like that the drive is not perfectly still in the vertical.

Purchased the single bay device so that I can image my main PC. For that, it seems to work fine. I connected it to my high speed USB port, and when imaging the PC using Macrium, I get around 330-380mbs/sec. That might be slowed down due to compression. Will have to test w/o compression. So, for backing up my C: drive, it works fine. The SAS drive connected does get pretty darn hot! Admittedly, maybe I was pushing it too hard, as the first backup attempt took 25 hours. The job failed after 24 hours and the drive was so hot it could no longer be recognized. I took it out, tried some other drives, and they all recognized. After letting the SAS drive cool for a few hours, it worked fine. I ran a smaller job only backing up the C: drive of the main PC, and the job went fine.So for now, i don't recommend keeping a drive connected to it 24/7 unless you have some form of cooling. The USB cable that plugs into it kept coming loose. It took me a few tries to get it to stick into the cradle. I recommend that once you get it connected, leave the USB connected and never disconnect it from the cradle. Just remove it from whatever PC it's connected to.Edit: A day after writing this review, I went to use the device again and it would no stay connected. As soon as it started writing it would disconnect until restarted. Tried 2 computers. Sent device back for a refund.

Bought to use as a drive bay for disk-to-disk transfers, just trying to clean off old discarded hard drives and condense everything onto a single larger drive, and it works great. Way more affordable than trying to buy drive bays or enclosures for all the separate drives that i only need to plug in for a day or less to clean them off.
