I am so happy with these rug grippers by Gorilla Grip! To ensure both the rug gripper and rug remain in place, below are a few tips, which -- by trial and error -- worked perfectly for us.I have several thick throw rugs in my various bathrooms, each with a so-called non-skid rubber-like coating on the bottom, all of which never stayed in place. I lost count of the number of times I purchased similar rug grippers to this one (but never before by Gorilla Grip) -- from Bed, Bath & Beyond, Walmart, etc. Frustratingly, NONE held the rugs or the grippers in place, i.e., not only would the rug still move, but then the (other brand) grippers would "sneak out" beyond the border of the rug and look "tacky".These rug grippers were delivered on 10/26/2024, and we put them in place that day. Today is 12/30/2024, and they have not budged even a half inch after experimenting with different options and finding a solution that worked. TIPS:1) We cut each rug gripper in a rectangle shape to almost exactly ONE INCH from the edge all around each rug (you will need that small uncovered border near the edge of each rug not protected by the gripper pad for this solution to work).2) We first tried professional-grade MASKING TAPE. It did not stick at all to the non-stick rug bottom and it popped right off. Then we tried ProTape's professional PAINTER'S TAPE. That also did not adhere the non-stick rug bottom, and it, too, popped right off.3) On our third try, we added a continuous strip of GORILLA TAPE (Mini Duct Tape To-Go, 1" x 10 yd Travel Size), not their two-sided tape ( We placed the MIDDLE of the Gorilla Tape over the rug gripper so that one-half inch of it covered the UNCOVERED border of the rug bottom, and the other half-inch was OVER the rug gripper.4) We are using the pet tool of a Black & Decker hand-vac to vacuum each rug on a weekly basis (if the rugs are visibly dirty and need to be washed, you likely will need to remove the Gorilla tape and rug gripper and see if the tape adheres after the rug is fully dry). One, I cannot say what the success rate would be if we did not take the extra step of using the Gorilla Tape. Two, I have never purchased woven/cotton rugs, such as those with fringed edges, so I don't know if our solution will work with them . Thus far, however, I am more than pleased that my rugs are not slipping and sliding, and that the rug grippers do not show beyond the edges of the rugs. I highly recommend this product.

Perfect item. New dog bed slid when our 60 lbs dog ran and jumped on it. This keeps it in-place without hurting hardwood floors.I would give 5 stars but Amazon rating site not allowing.

Had the product for a year now and no major issues. It stops the rug from sliding when you walk on it.Pros:Got it because my dog likes to gallop and slide across a hallway rug while chasing things. The product does a good job keeping things in place, but will occasionally bunch up underneath in a way that I notice while walking over. The worst is when the dog is kicking the rug in it's sleep.I do have to readjust the rug every so often, probably once a month. It will peak out after vigorous running across it, but it's a minor thing that only takes a minute.Dog hair doesn't seem to affect it. I have a little build up under the grip pad, but there's still no slipping.Cons:I have noticed that it slips easily when pushed from the side. My conclusion is that this product is most effective when it is being squished. I've seen a few people in the comments who used with with a throw rug on a couch and this doesn't seem to be the product for that. It's not inherently sticky, so it will slide more easily on smooth surfaces if it's not being squished. That being said, I used to be able to run and jump on the rug and it would slide across the floor. Now it barely moves. It does seem to be degrading slowly though. It's probably from the dog kicking it, but the little foam balls on top are slowly coming off. It's only a few so far, and performance hasn't been affected. This product would probably be most effective if it was attached to the rug with a sticky backing, preventing the two from moving independently.

The 5x7 rug pad has plenty of extra material to trim as needed to fit seamlessly under my 5x7 rug. It keeps it from slipping and adds some nice additional cushioning. I was considering just getting some "carpet tape" to keep my rug from moving, but I was worried about residue on my floors and rug. I was a bit hesitant about a low-tech rug pad like this, but it works great - no bulk, no debris, A+

The gorilla rug grip works perfect for a runner rug on a hard wood floor... No more sliding or adjusting a runner and it's a perfect fit.

No more slip and slide. We stacked the gorilla grip over an oval braided rug and cut the oval rug about an inch smaller rug.It was inexpensive and works great!

Got a few rugs for the house and this one particular rug would not stay put, especially with dogs running around. Our plan is to put a desk in this space, however we were worried of the slipping and sliding the rug was doing. Even with weighted objects, this rug was no match for our hardwood floors. I went on a limb hoping this would help us from having to buy a new rug and I’m happy with the purchase. The fit is spot on, no trimming required for our job. Even laying it down the rug pad clung to our floors, due to the weight of the rug and what will be a desk, I don’t think this bad boy is moving. I didn’t really expect a difference in cushioning since we have a thicker rug but you do feel more support and comfort.

This works better than expected. I ordered a second, larger, one. It's not sticky, it is just not slippery. When you stand on it or, the dog runs across it, the pressure on the rug holds it in place.

What a great product. Was very easy to trim to size of my area rug. Placement on the floor was so easy...slid easily into place. And when the reg was added, I was easily able to make a few adjustments by simply holding the rug and pad together. I was then wondering if it's so easy to move, how will it hold the rug in place...but no worries...it doesn't budge at all, with foot traffic nor when vacuuming!! Before I got this great pad, every time I walked on the rug, it moved out of place. Solved! And added little bonus, when I opened the package, there was no odor, like with some new rubber products.

Realmente funciona, es antiderrapante y además, le suma un poco de volumen a mi tapete. Gracias

This is my 3rd attempt to find something to stop my rug moving on the hard floor. Tried tape and other rug grips. This is perfect, adds extra cushion, doesn't ride up under the rug and most certainly stops the rug moving.
