Love this for pizza and more. I use this for checking the stone temp in my pizza oven all the time. I also used it to check the temperature on my old aluminum windows vs my new double pane ones. ðŸ¤

Received at no cost to me. This item shipped and arrived earlier than expected. Packaging was sufficient for an item of this type so as to provide damage free shipping. Unit is smaller than I expected but I guess technology has progressed to the point that smaller is better. Tested accuracy alongside a thermometer and had the same or within a degree Fahrenheit of each other. Unit has an operating temperature of 32 - 122 degrees Fahrenheit but when I tested it on my Trex composite deck I got a reading of 130 degrees. I can confirm that is probably very accurate as no one is able to walk barefoot across the deck after a couple hours of full exposure to the Florida sun. It will smell as if something is burning on days when the air temperature exceeds 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Overall it is mostly a novelty item for me as I really have no need to use this daily. It does however have a red laser type pointer dot that the dog and cat love to chase. Guess I can get them to chase it around until they get tired or over heat then I can check their temperature with the unit itself. There may be both worse and better units of this type on the market. If I had to pay for something like this I would research the available options and cost vs function. It seems to work as advertised. One star deducted as the instructions are scant and does not say how to install the 9 volt battery needed for it to operate. Stumbled onto the small indentations on the grip portion of the handle which led me to solve the mystery of how to open the battery compartment. Then insert the battery supplied with the unit. It is a very tight fit and you need to be careful how the battery is inserted and the handle closed to avoid damage to the wires inside the battery compartment.
